Australasia PGA Tour - Daniel Chopra

Come on Ashok!! He has been hot in the Indian circuit and he needs to translate that form in to an International event. With encouragement from the likes of Vijay Singh and Daniel Chopra, he should be in good spirit. Bring in the necessary confidence and do well. Good luck! And good luck to Daniel too!! Go for another top 5.

Daniel was off-color on the first day and had only 2 birdies but had 3 bogeys and 1 double bogey, and finished with a 3 over par round of 75.

The second day saw a different Daniel and he had 1 eagle, 4 birdies and no blemish on his scorecard. His 6 under par round of 66 today has moved him up to a tie for 25th place although some golfers have not finished the second round.

Ashok Kumar had 4 birdies, 6 bogeys and 1 double bogey on the first day for a 4 over par score of 76.

He has played 16 holes today in the second round and is +3 for the day. At +7 for the tournament he is tied for 111th place (153 golfers are in the field).

I am sure that Ashok Kumar will learn from this experience of playing with some top golfers on unfamiliar courses, and it shows that this talented golfer from India must play regularly on the Asian PGA Tour to improve his skills.

The top 60 golfers and ties will make the cut and hence Daniel will play the remaining rounds but Ashok Kumar will not make the cut.

Askok Kumar finished his rounds with scores of 76 and 76 and currently tied for 120th place.

There is nothing to be ashamed of for a person making his first appearance at the PGA Tour of Australasia.

Ashok, you have a bright future.

Great going Daniel! Talent was always there but the great hting right now is his confidence at this level. What a fight back after a poor first round. He has a belief in his ability to turn around his round. I remember same trait from last year in NW tour. I'm so excited for the new year season and I'm eagerly waiting to see what would Daniel offer. :goodluck:

I'm sure Ashok will have learnt few lessons here, which will help him later. Your days will come soon too.

Third round

Post by BSharma »

Daniel played superbly today and finished with a 4 under par round of 68 (one eagle, four birdies and two bogeys). He was quick to turn his two bogeys into birdies today. If he had a sub-par round on the first day, Daniel would be among the top 3 players by now.

Daniel finished the day at -4 (-11 for the tournament) and is currently T13 with
some players still on the course. He might move up a notch as the day
gets over. Peter Lonard is at the top at -18 with one hole to go and has a two stroke
lead over Bob Estes who has three holes to go.
