It is a US $ 60,000 event on Futures Tour. Last week she missed cut at Corning Classic.

Jyoti 4-u for the day and tied sixth

Jyoti finished four-under for the day without a bogey. Great stuff. Jyoti looks like back on the trail.

V Krishnaswamy, we are right now discussing Japan PGA in two threads. Lets bring the discussion in the same thread. There is an exclusive thread for Japan PGA that we have been using since the beginning of this year. Lets continue to use that.

AJAY,

You are right there is a thread on Japan. But my idea was to put the moves of Indians on foreign tours in a single place. After all we would like to know abt Arjun, Jyoti, Jeev, Smriti and others (when Asian Tour is on). Otherwise for people who track all the players, it means going into three indivdual threads one-byone to look for results.

I find going to one thread for all info easier than three diff threads, simply because in India it is not the easiest thing to keep shifting from one page to another in a dial up connection.

V Krishnaswamy, You have a point. I did not think from this angle that shifting from one page to another may not be an easy thing. In this regard this thread is useful as it serves the purpose of putting all the international results at one place for fast update

FUTURES TOUR – Bank of Ann Harbour

OK guys, here is something I found very interesting:

There is a young lady pro golfer called Nisha Sadekar, who is lying tied 16th at the Bank of Ann Harbour tournament in Futures Golf.

The 23-year-old Nisha the is the daughter of Anil and Munni Sadekar and is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Obviously parents of Indian origin. Nisha played at University of Missouri and is playing Future’s Tour this year.

Her younger sister, Seema Anil Sadekar (born June 19, 1985) also plays golf for UNLV (which I think if the University of Nevada, Las Vegas). She has been to Leadbetter Academy.

Smriti Mehra is tied for 16th place with 35-37 = 72.
The leaders are Hong Mei Yang (China), who recently became the first Chinese woman to win a pro golf tournament, and Nadine Ash (South Africa) with cards of 68 each.

US PGA TOUR – MEMORIAL

Arjun Atwal missed another cut. Had rounds of 77 and 76. Zhang Lianwei (77, 77) and Thongchai Jaidee (71, 79) slipped from 20th after first round to missing the cut by two strokes.

Atwal had six bogeys and two birdies. Had just one birdie in first round. Real bad streak going for Atwal.

Daniel is taking a break.

JAPAN PGA – JCB SENDAI CLASSIC

Jyoti had a bogey free round with three birdies. He is now -4, same score at which he was after the first day. Jyoti is tied 23rd.

Jeev finished T57 at the end of the 3rd round. He finished at par for day and +1 for tournament. In his third round, he had four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey.

The leader is Toru Taniguchi at –11.

Do you have a list of all the Indians who have won tournaments on the APGA/JPGA/EPGA tours?

Daniel Chopra is not the only golfer with Indian connection vying for a spot in the US Open. Shiv Kapur qualified through the local qualifying tournament and will head to the sectional tournament.

Several thousand golfers started at 107 local qualifying sites from May 10-21, 2004 with hopes to qualify and play in the US Open. Approximately 750 entrants, including those exempt from Local Qualifying (e.g., Daniel Chopra), will be eligible for Sectional Qualifying Rounds, which starts on Monday at 13 sites.

156 golfers will play in the UP Open, and 76 have direct entry and are exempt from having to play the qualifying tournament. Even John Daly, Colin Montgomerie, etc were required to qualify this year.

Thanks Bhushan for that bit on Shiv Kapur. Often we just forget amateurs. By the way Shiv a few weeks ago played for Asia-Pacific against Australia in an event called Bollanack Cup and Asia-Pacific won. Shiv won his singles besides another point.

Hope Daniel makes the main event, as also Shiv.

With regard to Nayan's request

ASIAN/ Euorpean/ Japan pga tour titles won by Indians

Indian Open was part of the old Asian Tour in early 1990s.
Then the Asian tour itself became very loose, till Asian PGA came into being in 1995.
But Indian Open joined APGA only in 1999.
However, now the Asian PGA is defunct and the new tour is once again called Asian Tour, since January, 2004

US Qualifiers:Shiv Kapur plays in Sectional qualifiers – he came through locals – not sure where he is playing.
Daniel Chopra also plays in Sectional qualifiers (at Columbus, Ohio, where 33 spots, the highest, are up for grabs).

Buick Classic
Atwal has got a place in Buick Classic
Daniel is third alternate

Japan PGA
Yomiuri Open

Neither Jeev nor Jyoti seemed to have entered as of now.
