Nice come back by Jyoti ... In back nine he score 2 birdies (on 11th and 13th hole) ... And score Par (72) round. So after second round Jyoti is +1 (round of 73 and 72) and lying at tied 8th position ... Leader is -6 at the moment, but only 6 players r below par ... From that one can understood how difficult is condition to play ... After playing 33 holes in a day Jyoti must be getting deserving rest with good rounds ... :)

Yes! Jyoti did fine by scoring those two birdies on 11th and 13th to reamain 1 over par and get into top 10. But he (T8) is still way behind the leader at -8, who has 6 more holes to play in second round. However, it has to be seen whether in the remaining holes the leader Taniguchi increases his lead over the rest or decreases it. Dinesh Chand is placed second at -4 after completing his 2nd round.

Over two days, Jyoti has 5 birdies, two double bogies and a bogie. The two double bogies really hurt him and he need to avoid them. Jyoti should go under par in next two round for a good finish. Go Jyoti!!

What tournament Japan Open 2004 turned out in the end ... Became tougher than US Open ... Only winner remained under par for Japan Open ... With score of -3 Taniguchi won Japan Open by 4 shots ... Jyoti had another disaapoint 4th round +7 (with 1 birdi, 5 bogeys and 1 triple bogey on 8th hole ... :-~ ) ... after +16 over for the tournament, still Jyoti manged T37th position ... ... Hopefully we will see improvement in next few weeks before US PGA Qualies.

 What a save!
I thought Jyoti would miss the cut, but he recovered after a bad start. Jyoti starte with a birdie, but by the time he finished 10 holes, he was +4 for the day (3 bogies and a double bogie). No way it seemed he is going to make the cut. But then he took control of himself and started his recovery action. He got birdies on 11th, 12th, 13th and 16th to go back to even for the day and -2 for the tournament. At the time of writing, Jyoti is playing the last par 5 hole. But now he looks safe. Sigh!

Update
He finished the round with a par on 18th. He is currently T42, but that may change. Still lot of players are still on the course. So things can change and still their is concern whether Jyoti will finish in top 60 or not. But chances look good and hopefully he'll be playing tomorrow.

Yes he is playing tomorrow .... Huush!!! ... After end of the round Jyoti is sitting on T44 th position ... One of the bad start by Jyoti ... He has long way to go, right now he is 8 shots behind leader Tadahiro Takayama (-10) ... Hope last 9 holes performance bring back Jyoti on his task.

Jyoti is paired with Shigeki Maruyama, who has taken off from PGA to play at home tour. I hope Jyoti make a move today to get back near top 10 today.

Very steady round by Jyoti ... No hi-flier one ... But important thing is, today's round was bogeyless round for Jyoti ... He scored 2 birdies ( On 2nd and 6th hole) and on final 18th hole he scored Eagle ... :D

So after today's -4 round, Jyoti is T27th with -6 score ... Leader is at -13 ... hopefuly tomorrow Jyoti will finish in Top 10.

After 11 holes, Jyoti is -2 for the last round ( 3 birdies and a bogie) and with a total of -8 he is currently T18. He needs atleast two more birdies in 7 remaining holes to get in top 10.

Jyoti finished tournament with Birdie on 18th hole, but for day he remains under -3 ... With total score of -9, he is currently tied for T14 th place.

Interestingly 2 way tie for leaderboard ... Toru Taniguchi and Shigeki Maruyama both r -15, but interesting part is Shigeki Maruyama is -8 under today (with 7 birdies, a egale and a bogey) ... Superb golfing round by him.

Jyoti finishd at T14. He played good overall and he won't be disapppointed with his performance. But he missed an excellent round that could have taken him to top 5.

ABC CHAMPIONSHIP 2004

Oops forgot to put update yesterday also ... ;)

Yesterday Jeev and Jyoti scored -2 (70) round and were tied for 14th spot ... Jeev scored 3 birdies (on 1st, 5th and 12th hole) and single bogey (on 16th hole) ... And Jyoti scored 5 birdies ( on 7th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 18th hole), one bogey (on 2nd hole) and double bogey on 10th hole ... superb come back by Jyoti in last 9 holes ... Yesterday leader Sasaki was at -6 (66).

Today also both scored identical round of -2 (70) ... Jeev played bogeyless round with 2 birdies at 1st and 18th ... And Jyoti scored 4 birdies (on 6th, 10th, 15th and 18th hole) and 2 bogeys (on 4th and 17th) ... So after end of second round both players r at -4 and T17 th ... Leader Kamiyama is at -10 for the tournament.

Need some fireworks from our guys to move ahead on the ladder.

Jaydeep.
