JPGA - CASIO WORLD OPEN -2004 Jeev Milkha Singh

Gansy, I think you're right. But I'm not the only one who's been fooled. This website also shows the third round scores as if it were the final result:
http://www.iseekgolf.com/view_articles. ... /4/41/6/1/
(of course the contents of this webpage could change, but at the moment they are just showing the leaderboard as of the end of the third round).
But this JPGA web-site suggests Toru Suzuki won the title, and another homepage for the tournament (where everything was in Japanese showed Suzuki holding a trophy). There, too, the "final" leaderboard (in English) only showed the scores at the end of the third round...

According to rediff, the final day was cancelled because of rain, and the third round results were declared the final results (this explains some of the above...). I find this utterly absurd: the fourth round was being played, Jyoti had almost closed the gap with the leader, and all of that is simply wiped off the slate. Grossly unfair. I think they should have played on Monday if there was rain today -- and completed the final round properly since it had already begun.

Although JPGA site has remove the links to the 4th round score, but the abandoned round's web page is still there.

I also can't understand why they couldn't complete the 4th round on Monday. It is very unfortunate for Jyoti to miss the chance of winning a tournament. When most of the people were scoring bogies, Jyoti was playing superb golf with 3 birdies and no bogies. Jyoti had very good chance of getting his 2nd win in JPGA. Hopefully, Jyoti will be doubly determined to win the next event.

It is sad to read that Jyoti lost a good chance to finish at the top or in second place because the weather played a role in it. I do not know the rules of Japan PGA about when the tournament gets abondoned or not after the third round. The US PGA tries to finish the tournament on Monday (Vijay Singh won three tournaments on Mondays this year) if bad weather affects the play on Sunday. However, if bad weather is forecast for Monday then the end of third round is used as the final result. This has happened in the past and has resulted in some golfers being significantly affected by it.

Hard luck for Jyoti ... But overall heartening performance by indians ... Hopefully they built on this performance for in their future tournaments .... Importantly for USPGA Quali ... I m agree with forum members view ... Fourth round should be completed on Monday, if its not finishes on sunday ... But we don't know logic behind JPGA organisers ... But one thisng is sure, that Jyoti's chance robbed by this rule.

Jyoti was robbed. Plain and simple, the JPGA's decision was inexcusable. Someone should lodge a formal protest: Suzuki was losing it, when he was bailed out by the tournament organisers and given a trophy he did not deserve!

It is time to check out the weather report at the golf course on Monday and the rules of Japan PGA.

If it did not rain, Jyoti must gain.
( sorry for modifying the famous line from OJ Simpson trial).

What horrid start by Jeev in COCA-COLA TOKAI CLASSIC 2004 on JPGA ... Right now he is tied 95th with (+3) score ... today he scored 2 birdies and 2 bogeys, but his shocking score was on Par 5 12th hole ... he take 8 shots to finishes :damn: ... Mostly he take penalty for water hazard on that hole ... But horrible play by Jeev ... He has lot of task to do for avoiding cut ... Currently leader is at (-7).

Jeev need a good secon round to make the cut. The projected cut after the first round is hovering around +1 and +2. Assuming similar round, I guess that after second round the cut may be in the range of +2/+3. To make the cut safely, Jeev just need an under par round. Hope fully Jeev will do it.

Cut will be apply at +3/+4 ... And Jeev finishes his second day with +6 score :damn: ... Until 17th Jeev was Par round with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys ... His last birdie came on Par 5 15th hole ... he was +3 and sure of making cut ... But on 18th hole, he played another nightmerish hole ... And scored +3  ... With this inconsistent performance I m not betting against Jeev to qualify for USPGA through Qualies.

What a disaster! :damn: :damn:
Jeev crashes out on the last hole with a triple bogie. Jeev finished the round with 3 over par due to this triple bogie, just like yesterday. But today was worse as it happened on the last hole. He was coasting well after his back to back bogies on 3rd and 4th hole. He birdied 2nd and 15th hole and looked sure to make the cut with one shot cushion when he approached the 18th hole. But it was not to happen. :(

Daniel is taking off a week from PGA and his friend Jeev is taking off a week from Japan. But Jyoti and Arjun Atwal are still in the field and we have players to follow. Jyotti Randhawa has already started his first round. Go!! Jyoti!!

Just got update from Japan Open Golf Championship Home page ---

14:58 Play Suspended due to Thunderstorm

1st Round play has been suspended due to thunderstorm at 14:58. Remaining 1st round will presume from 6:30am Oct.15. 22 groups did not finish 1st round today
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So Jyoti could not finish his first round due to thunderstrom ... His groups was last one to begins on the golf course ... He started from back nine and hardly finishes 3 holes (ie 12th hole) and play suspended ... After 3 holes he is Par and tied for 16th spot ... Tomorrow will be very big hectic day for Jyoti and others ... Jyoti's group has to play 33 holes tomorrow.

Very so so round by Jyoti after lovely lastweek outing in Europe ... He finished his first round at 1 over (73) ... He scored 2 birdies (16th and 5th hole), 1 bogey (7th hole) and 1 double bogey (15th hole) ... His second round also started and mostly tiredness of playing 15 holes in the morning showing in his second round ... Currently he is 2 over with a bogey (5th hole) and a double bogey (8th hole) ... and scored birdie on 9th hole, so with +3 score he is tied at 37th position ... Projected cut will be at +4/+5.
