Excellent round of 66 in the third round from Arjun, and Shiv Kapur moved up with a 68. But Rattanon Wannasrichan (who is competing with Shiv for the Panasonic Swing title is on T14, so he may pip Shiv Kapur to the series title. (Shubhankar doesn't seem to be in the field here, while Jyoti Randhawa and Gaganjeet Bhullar missed the cut).

Rahil Gangjee gets a two-year winners’ exemption on the Asian Tour and also on the Japan golf tour (JGTO).

Currently, Rahil Gangjee leads the JGTO order of merit and is third at the Asian Tour Order of merit.

Gangjee became the third Indian after Jyoti Randhawa (Suntory Open 2003), Jeev Milkha Singh (2 in 2006 and 2 in 2008) to win a Japan Tour title. Last year, Ajeetesh Sandhu won a 36-hole event on Japan Challenge Tour.

Yes, really big win for Rahil to secure both tours cards ... He also won big prize money, $278,651, for winning the Panasonic Open Golf Championship ... That also after 14 yrs when he won his first Asian tour title in China.

Congrats Rahil.

Congrats Rahil for a fighting win in Japan.
The leaderboard was packed and Rahil was always behind for half of the final round.
Great tenacity to hang in there and to come with crucial birdies in the back 9 to be tied in top with 2 others when he came to the last hole.
Birdies the last to win :notworthy:
For someone who hasn’t earned a penny this year on the Asian tour, Rahil now wins $330k with this win. The prize money included 50k for finishing 2nd in Panasonic swing - after getting his first points this week in a 5 event format lasting over a year.

In addition to the above, Rahil gets 2 year exemption on the Asian and Japan tours too

Congrats to Shiv Kapur for winning the Panasonic Swing too ($70k + one European Tout invite)
Great weekend for Indian golf in Japan after the great week in Tennis over the Japanese last week :D

Last week's winner Rahil Gangjee has opted out of the event and has decided to continue to play at Japan Golf Tour.
