Shubhankar Sharma was on his way to another strong round when lightning interrupted. Hopefully, he finishes strong to continue the significant uptick in his performance. Good luck to Chikka on saving his tour card!

Looks like there are 11 Indians in the top 60 with Chikka at 61. However, the Asian tour website seems to indicate that he has retained his card.

This year Top 61 finishers in the Order of Merit will retain the playing status for 2018 season.

So 12 Indians make it next season, compared to 13 of Thailand.

Another news is that the domestic PGTofIndia will be an 'Open Tour' from 2018 which means there would be no restriction on the number of foreigners on the tour.
Also, PGTI hopes to soon align itself with the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) system thus attracting world ranking points for all its future events.

2017 has been a good season for Indian golfers.

6 titles has been won this year by Indians compared to 5 last year.

Last year, 11 Indians secured their Asian tour golf cards at the end of the season. This year, that number has risen to 12. Additionally, Anirban Lahiri & Mukesh Kumar have Category 1 (OOM winner) and Category 3 (Tournament winner) membership for next season. Jeev Milkha Singh might have to use his Category 10 (career money) membership to play next season.

Currently, we have 6 Indians in Top 215 of OWG Rankings compared to 3 golfers last year.
