Re: 2014 Asian Tour
What a wonderful surprise from Arjun Atwal at the end of the year. He was going to be felicitated in Calcutta (at RCGC) later this week, and I had half a mind of going to that event: I don't think the organizers could have imagined that he might go and win a tournament just before their event!

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Wonderful to see Arjun win again on the tour. Reading through his interview at the end of day 3, he seemed to be down on himself in spite of being on top of the leader board. The only comment he made was that he was tired! In the interview he gave after winning the event, he mentioned that he had considered quitting but got talked out of it by his family and friends. Now he has a card to play on the Asian tour for next year -- he got to play a few events this year thanks to sponsors and made the very last event count. I hope next year sees a revival in Indian golf with Anirban Lahiri joining Shiv Kapur, Arjun Atwal and Gaganjeet Bhullar as the people to follow. Sadly, Jeev is nearing the end of his great career and Jyoti Randhawa is also not getting younger. I hope that there will be more new names emerging in 2015. The Korean, Wang, who finished second in Dubai (and made all cuts) is only 19 years old and looks like someone destined for something big.

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Anirban Lahiri is the only Indian golfer worth following, and has been for a while.

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Yes, it has been a dismal couple of years with Shiv Kapur and Gaganjeet Bhullar not doing well in addition to the older group of Jeev/Arjun/Jyoti fading away. Interestingly, Gaganjeet Bhullar at 26 is younger than Anirban Lahiri who is 27. Hopefully, Bhullar will recover in 2015 after losing quite a bit due to an injury this year. Another player to watch is 23 year old Rashid Khan who won twice this year on the Asian Tour. At 200 in the world ranking, he is currently the second among Indian golfers.Sin Hombre wrote:Anirban Lahiri is the only Indian golfer worth following, and has been for a while.
