2013 Asian Tour - Sail-SBI Open: Lahiri wins again

Post by ajay »

Lahiri made an impressive start for 2013, just like last year as he defended his title in the SAIL-SBI Open at Delhi Golf Club. This is his 3rd win in the Asian Tour in three consecutive years. Also noteworthy performances from 22 yr talented Rashid Khan who lost Lahiri in the playoff. Another India youngster who impressed a lot was 20 yr old Khalin Joshi who lead the tournament halfway and he was in the mix for title contention till the last day and finally finished T11 with a disappointing last hole where he triple-bogeyed. Hopefully, we will hear his name more often in future. The Indian players making it to top 20 are:

Re: 2013 Asian Tour - Bhullar wins Indonesian Open

Post by PKBasu »

Things have been rather quiet on our golf forum of late. But there is some nice news from the Asian Tour, with Gaganjeet Bhullar winning the Indonesian Open in a canter. Jyoti Randhawa finished 5th, and Anirban Lahiri joint sixth. Here is a report:

Congratulations to Gaganjeet on a brilliant wire to wire victory at the Indonesia Open.
He shot a flawless three-under-par 68 to win his first Asian Tour title of 2013 by three shots.
This comes after last place finish last week in Australia.
Good to see a steady Anirban, Shiv and welcome back to form for Jyoti.
Jeev and Arjun had a forgettable 2013 and have 2 events left to do something about it.

Re: 2013 Asian Tour -Bhullar squeaks ahead in OoM

Post by PKBasu »

Bhullar has now moved into fourth place in the Asian Tour Order of Merit for this year -- just one spot ahead of Lahiri. There is one Australian in second place, so Bhullar and Lahiri are the third and fourth-ranked Asians on the list -- which will be used to determine who represents Asia in the inaugural EurAsia Cup. Here is the current Order of Merit for 2013:
