Touching the ball anywhere is a strict no-no. In the bunker, grounding the club is also a penalty.

Re: US$1.25mn Hero Honda Indian Open, Oct 8-11th 2009
Good news, Muniyappa has been cleared of any any infringemen. So Muniyappa keeps the lead for second consecutive day. The final day promises to be a thriller (here goes my sleep ) Including Arjun Atwal, there are eight Indians in contention as they tee up tomorrow morning (or today, depending upon which part of the world we live.).
One thing is pretty sure, there will be lot of pressure on final day as there are so many players crowded up at the top. Muniyappa has won on Indian tour this year, and in general playing best golf of his life. Though Indian tour victory may be counted as big achievement, but the experience of winning is invaluable and Muniyappa needs to keep reminding himself of that victory and have a belief that he can do it. Can he manage it? Lets see how he handles the pressure.
Digvijay Singh, one stroke behind, is another player who had been playing for a while and came close to victory on Asian tour on few occasions, but could not do it earlier. Can he do this time? He is having some problem with his wrist. So he has to overcome his wrist to deliver a knockout round to win.
Then there is 24 yr old Harinder Gupta, who has been pro for few years trying to join the big league. Just one stroke behind, he also must be eager to get a breakthrough victory. But can he overcome the lack of experience at international level on a big stage? I wish him all the best.
Next Indian in line is Mukesh Kumar, just 3 strokes behind. A very successful player at domestic golf, but he could not translate his success to the international level. He reminds me of Ashok Mankad, a very successful player in domestic cricket, should have done more at international level. Following Mukesh are Ashok Kumar and veterans Ghei, and Johl. Ghei is the only player in this group who has tasted success on Asian tour.
I hope an Indian wins it. It will be a thriller.
Here are the scores for the 3rd round:

Muniyappa birdied the par 5 18th(1st playoff hole) They both missed the fairway. Muniyappa played a very good 2nd shot from a difficult position over the trees and excellent 3rd to give him just a 4 feeter birdie chance and he made it. Lee missed his 2 metre birdie.

It is great to see an Indian win the Indian Open. Congratulations to Muniyappa on his maiden Asian tour win. Anirban Lahiri had an awesome 8 under par 64 in the final round to finish T3. By the way, the runner up Lee Sung was born deaf but that clearly has not hampered his golf game.

Congratulations to Muniyappa for a well-deserved title.
And nice to see young Anirban Lahiri finish 3rd. As for Bhullar, I think he is entitled to an occasional bad tournament, but that doesn't detract from the superb year he has had. Arjun Atwal is still struggling to sustain form over 4 days (as revealed by his disastrous final round of 77), but he is gradually getting back into the groove, as he showed on Day 3.

Muniyappa was deserving winner of Indian Open, who was leading Indian Open after 2nd round ... But Lee Sung take it to wire, still Muni didn't lose focus and lift title ... Winning biggest cheque of his small career.
Watched Anirban Lahiri' game which shown on TV ... He was very excited when scored an eagle on 18th hole ... Looks talented ... Atwal must be disappointed with his last round but showed some of his class in first 3 rounds.

Congrats Muniyappa. We will wait for one more APGA victory before creating a new thread for him...
OTOH, Atwal's finish is disappointing....but seeing Ashok in top 10 is good..He was once touted as next big golfer, but has been very quiet

Congrats to Muniyappa for a fine win and also the 4 other Indians who made the top 10. Our golfing standards are definitely on the rise as some of our top golfers (Jeev, Jyoti etc.) did not play in this tournament and yet we were all over the top of the leader board in the end and in the earlier days as well.

Yes, we have definitely joined Korea and Japan in the trio of dominant golf-playing nations in Asia. A real pity that a Korean (ranked worse than Jeev at the time) became the first Asian to win a major (at the USO this year).
