We are so used to it now.
I only check his name in the top 5-10 of leaderboard, and Jeev is omnipresent, specially in Japan.
Unlike earlier years when ypu have to search the whole list.
Great start and surprised that his wrist is holding on........

Jeev stays in the hunt with a -3 today (5 birdies and 2 bogeys) -- he ended the day with a birdie on the 18th hole to take sole possession of second place. So the leaderboard reads*

1. Tetsuya Haraguchi -10
2. Jeev Milkha Singh -9
3. Hideki Kase -8

I like Jeev's current position. It is better to stay within striking distance in the early rounds and win it on the last day. That way there is less pressure. Go Jeev.

True, these days Jeev is making sure that we don't need to search his name below top 10 .. So whenever we find him outside top 10 then thats itself make news ... Go Jeev.

At the end of the third round, Jeev and Haraguchi remain at the top. They share first place at -12  and have a two stroke lead. So the leaderboard looks as follows

T1. Jeev Milkha Singh and Tetsuyi Haraguchi -12
T3 David Smail, Toshinori Muto and Hideki Kase -10

The winner in all probability will come from these five players with Jeev and Haraguchi having the upper hand. Jeev had a bogey free round with three birdies. Looking at his scorecard and seeing the huge number of holes where he had two putts, he could have had another 66 with a hot putter. Hole number 18 has been good for him -- he has birdied it three times so far. I hope he repeats it tomorrow as well. Go Jeev.

It is so heartening to see jeev week after week remain in contention for the title. He may win it or not but his consistency is something that is not so common in Indian sports.

Last time a title in Japan tour slipped from him very narrowly. Seeking his 3rd win in this amazing year, hopefully, he'll nail it this time.

Here is a report on the third day play. Jeev's putting is off the mark in the last two rounds. Wishing him all the best.

The 34-year-old Jeev, seeking his maiden title in Japan, has been in amazing form having finished in the top-10 ten times in 15 starts in Japan this season. He has also won twice this season at the Volvo China Open, a joint-sanctioned event on Asian and Japan Tours, and then the Volvo Masters of Europe in Valderrama, Spain.

Jeev's score did not do justice to the golf he played.

He struck the ball beautifully and reached the greens in regulation on 89 per cent of the occasions and missed just two all day.

But his putting was not in consonance as he needed 32 putts, as compared to 29 and 31 on first two days.

"I have been playing well all season and this could be a good chance to make a bid for my first title in Japan," said Jeev who has finished second at least five times in Japan in the last five years.

"As I keep telling myself, as long as I am in contention, I am always in with a chance and it will ultimately come."

It will be a frustating day for us as the Japanese live update will freeze by the time Jeev will reach arounf 12th hole.
In the times of instant information, this wait for the final result is so annoying. Is their any other way to get updates during that period?

Yes, Ajay. It is going to a be a frustrating day. However, the good news is that Jeev is -2 through 6 holes today. I will not give his position since I am superstitious

Jeev wins his third title of the year and his first victory in Japan!


Some thing that was missing from jeev's resume, is finally there. So many times this year jeev came so close to achieve a victory in Japan, but it just eluded him. But this time, he ensured that he would be second to none.
