After a nice show last week, pretty disappointing start from Jeev.. Letz hope he has got his customary bad round out of the way and can start firing birdies..

ShivKapur after 6 holes is -2 for the day and 8 under par over all. He is still hanging on to his lead.

Jyoti is on fire. He is -4 today and he moved from 13th to 4th position with a over all score of 6 under par. He still has 6 holes to go.

Gaurav Ghei moved from 30th to 18th position but Jeev and Harmeet are dissapointments.

I should say a mixed day for Indians so far.

Wonderful day for Jyoti and Shiv today!!!!

Jyoti shot a course equalling 64 which was made by Tiger Woods back in 97..Way to go Jyoti!!!:-)

Shiv started off wid a bogey today but quickly got into his stride and made 2 fantastic birdies in the second and the 3rd...one was a near 25 foot putt and the other a nice chip shot into the hole from jus outside the green....

Was pretty steady thru most of the round except the last 2 holes where he made a cupl of terrible shots from the fairway...should have bogeyed the 17th hole but luckily made a wonderful putt from bout 15-17 feet...found himself in the same situation in the last hole but this time missed the putt....Both times he found himself in that situation because of careless bunker shots...But his putter was working incredibly well....

Good solid round of 5 under par.....

He is at 11 under and Jyoti at 10 under and they are leading the pack!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to go guys!!!!!:-)

Thanks Sridhar for updates and ur report on Shiv's and jyoti's game.

WOW!!! woohoo :bounce: woohoo

What a day for Jyoti, he equaled best round of this course, ie -8 ... :notworthy: And otherhand Jeev scored +7 round on same course ... :frown:

So today truely we experianced mix day ... As three players climbed in standing with wonderful rounds and two descend with their bad performance.

Jyoti was king on the course .. He played amazing golfing round which consist 9 birdies and only bogey on his first hole ... On back 9 he was on fire and maanged to score 5 under .. Simply masterclass performance from Jyoti.

Shiv ... In his every outing he is showing tremendous improvement ... I don't know if he can still manage to win title in close finishes ... But that he will learn, but definetly very bright prospect ... Today Shiv also scored 8 birdies and 3 bogeys ... Only hurting thing was he made a bogey on last hole and missed chance of leading by 2 strokes after second round.

Gaurav showing his recent performance isn't fluke ... Today he played good round which had 5 birdies and 2 bogeys.

Harmeet is really struggling with his performance ... And that continues here also ... Today he scored 2 birdies and 6 bogeys ... Until 5th hole he was -2 for the day ... :-~

Jeev, what one can say about his performance??? After his last performance I was thinking he is coming back to form ... But here he is playing more than disasterous rounds one after another ... Today he scored 2 birdies, 5 bogeys and may be he thought that wasn't enough so he scored 2 more double bogeys ... :damn: And ended day with 7 over.
Volvo Masters of Asia - Round 2

1 Shiv KAPUR 66 67 -11
2 Jyoti RANDHAWA 70 64 -10
3 Marcus BOTH 69 66 -9

T16 Gaurav GHEI 72 69 -3
T45 Harmeet KAHLON 73 76 +5
52 Jeev Milkha SINGH 74 79 +9 (on this position in field of 56 players ...)
Go Jyoti and Shiv ... Now title should be urs in this Asian Masters.

Jaydeep.

PS. Oops sorry Sridhar, u was right it should be Jeev ... Yesterday was belonging to Jyoti so I kept writing Jyoti everywhere.

YEHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:bounce: :bounce:

INDIAN DUO RACE TO FINISH LINE AT VOLVO MASTERS OF ASIA
Shiv Kapur pulled one-stroke clear at the halfway stage of the US$600,000 Volvo Masters of Asia on Friday with title holder Jyoti Randhawa looming ominously.
Like a champion Shiv Kapur did not budge as he held on to his top position. He followed up his 6 under par on first day with a 5 under par. Way to go!!! We have seen so often that it is not an easy task to hold on to the top position as it usually requires the player to follow up an excellent round with another. Shiv did this in earlier tournament too when he shared or led for all four day, only to loose in the play off.

And if we want someone to challenge Shiv, it is Jyoti and he did it in style. What a round!!! Jyoti, the defending champion, had been eyeing this tournament for a while. It would be interesting to see Jyoti and Shiv play together in the last pairing tomorrow. Hopefully, they will have some synergy playing together and break off from the rest of the field in the 3rd round to lead by comfortable margin.

Ghei (T16, -3) played a good round of 3 under par as he narrows the gap between himself and the top 10 poition. He currently trails by 2 strokes from top 10 position. He is way behind the leaders and he will have to play like Tiger Woods to catch up with the leaders. but, top 10 position is well with in his reach. Go Ghei!!!

Harmeet was in good form some time back this year, but lately he has not been doing that well. Unfortunately, Jeev has caught up with his uncertainties as he must be pretty disappointed with his game in this tournament. But there are two more days to salvage this round and finish decently. Go Harmeet and Jeev!!

Was able to view the last two holes of Shiv. The 17th was an awesome 20ft putter to save par. Will most probably get to see them in their rounds tomorrow as they would be the final pairing.

Go Shiv and Jyothi!!!

Volvo Masters of Asia - Round 3

T1 Jyoti RANDHAWA 70 64 67 -15
T1 Shiv KAPUR 66 67 68 -15
T1 Marcus BOTH 69 66 66 -15
4 Chawalit PLAPHOL 69 70 67 -10

T28 Gaurav GHEI 72 69 74 -1
T49 Jeev Milkha SINGH 74 79 71 +8
T49 Harmeet KAHLON 73 76 75 +8
Another exciting day for Jyoti and Shiv ... Both had royal battle, but now with Both's superb golfing round its three way tie for top position after 3rd round ... These three having maximum chance of winning the championship considering they already having 5 strokes lead over their nearest rival ... But now important question for us 'Is this Aussie will spoil Indian party on last day?' ... Lets hope Jyoti and Shiv will be stand up for his challenge and make sure that this title remain with Indian.

Today until 9th hole Jyoti was even for the day with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys ... But again he produced yesterday's performance of 5 birdies without any bogey on back 9 ... So Jyoti managed to score 5 under for the day with 7 birdies and 2 bogeys ... I was watching Jyoti and Shiv's game ... I m truely impressed with Jyoti's recovery shots from roughs.

Shiv also matched to his partner on the course ... He was 1 over for the day after front 9, his only bogey was on hole 2 ... But he also scored 5 birdies on back 9 ... So today Shiv played another wonderful round .. With 5 birdies and 1 bogey he was 4 under for the day.

Should mentioned about Australian Marcus Both .. Today he was playing like champion ... He made only mistake on hole 15, where some spectators moved while he was going for tee shot ... But instead of pulling off from the shot, he went with shot and hit in the wood ... Otherwise very solid golfing round with 7 birdies and 1 bogey.

Gaurav had a bad day at the office ... He only managed to score single birdie but 3 bogeys ... So he was 2 over for the day.

So atlast today Jeev managed to score under par round ... With 4 birdies and 3 bogeys he scored 1 under round.

Harmeet scored 4 birdies and 4 bogeys ... May be he decided to make interesting finish with Jeev, so he tried something different which cost him triple bogey on hole 15 ... And now with 3 over for the day he is sitting with Jeev to fight for last position in Indian group ... :kookoo:

So tomorrow will be interesting as Marcus is playing super golf, but both Indians r not going to give their position easily ... They r fighting hard ... Definetly it will be very exciting final day between these three ... The player who handles pressure well in the end will be the winnner.

Jaydeep.

Both Jyoti and Shiv had a lacklustre opening 9 holes and that edge was missing from their game but they were both hot in the latter half of their round and both of them cranked it up a notch with a few amazing iron shots landing rite next to the pin...Their putter was solid as ever!!!!

Jyoti was quite wayward of the tee with his drives going all oer the place but his iron shots more than made up for that!!!

Have been watching Shiv's game in the last 2 rounds and must say his short game seems to be excellent and he jus tries to be consistent of his drive...both with Andrew and Jyoti his drive to the fairway almost always ended up shorter on the fairway than the other chaps shot!

Jyoti shud have been the sole leader....had a good 6 foot putt for a birdie on the last hole but missed it by a whisker..disappointing that!!!

Judging by Jyoti's comments y'day it seemed he ahd not played with Shiv before and was not well acquainted wih him but today it was really encouragin to see him talk to shiv ,pat him on the back and stuff like that!was a good sight!!! lets hope the guys can crank it up further tomorro..

Kind of disappointing to c them not bein paired together for the final round but the good thing for Shiv is that if his partner Plahpol isnt red hot tomorro then there shud not be too much insecurity for Shiv

Anyway all the best guys!!! :goodluck:

Are the indian fans destined for another heartbreak? I presume none of the indians have won any tournaments this year and I hope Jyoti can break the jinx..

I think Shiv is very fortunate that he is not going to be in the final pairing.. This should benefit Shiv a lot and he can easily dictate the terms for the final pairing...

C'mon SHIV & JYOTI - you have to win now. Between you there is just one guy and the rest are playing catch if you go under par on final day. All the very best to both of you.....title drought will be over tomorrow..
