Nice run by Sahith so far. A lot of strong players are near the leader, so he'll have to play really well to stay at the top.

Anirban's struggles continue with him missing the cut.

Sahith couldn't hold on in the final round and finishes T-3 for a $434K payday.

He will win soon though. He was tied for lead at -16 after 16 holes and then had really bad luck in the drivable 332 yard par 4. He hit a perfect drive with his hybrid which was headed to the center of the green for an eagle try (and certain birdie) when it hit the downslope of a small mound and kicked left by 45 degrees which made it find the water instead of the center of the green where it was headed. Instead of going into the final hole 1 stroke ahead, he was 1 stroke behind where he finished.

Good start for Anirban Lahiri in the Players Championship. He's currently T-2 at -5 although a significant number of players still need to complete their first rounds.

That’s odd. I watched about 15 min live on Sunday, and his name wasn’t on the leaderboard. I must have missed it. Good luck.

Anirban finishes in 2nd place, just one stroke behind winner Aussie Cameroon Smith…
Incredible performance to stay on top for so long in a tough week.
Anirban could have easily gone down the leaderboard as it has happened few times in the past.
But, in this tough he played unbelievable and stayed in top 5 all throughout.
Huge boost on his rankings, earnings and in securing his card for 2023 :notworthy:
Well played Anirban
Sad you missed it by a stroke to get a play off opportunity..and play for one of the biggest cheques USD3.6 million for the winner!!
Second prize is just USD2.18 million

Anirban moves to 45th in FedEx ranking in the PGA Tour.
Should secure his card for 2023.
Also, should move to top 100 in world rankings too.
And the prize money must be one of the highest ever earned by an individual Indian sportsmen/women in one event.
Onward and upward.
