Anirban had an average round as -5 was sort of par for the day and he had -4.
Needs a really low round on Sunday to make it count.

Excellent final round by Anirban.
Finished one shot behind the winner. So close to a playoff. Best finish this year on any tour by him.
Misses this weeks event as he flies to Tokyo for Olympics.
Currently 108th on FedEx Cup standings. With just 2 more events left after Olympics, he has surely secured his full card (top 125) for next year.
That should be a big relief and Anirban can play freely in the remaining few events of the season. :goodluck: for the Olympics next!

Spectacular final round by Anirban to finish T3 in a PGA Tour event during a week in which many of the world's top players were at the British Open (where an Asian-American called Collin Morikawa won on debut, as he had at the PGA Championships a year ago).

Anirban will be flying to the Tokyo Olympics with a sudden surge of form behind him. A surprise medal a la Leander 1996?

Yes, congrats to Anirban on a timely strong result! This secures his PGA tour card for next year and should put him in a good frame of mind for the Olympics. Golf is a somewhat unpredictable sport in terms of the putts dropping in, so he has a chance to do well in Tokyo if he is in good form with his ball striking.
