I never quite understand some of these things about golf tour. This is supposed to be a European tour and tournaments are held all over - Asia, Africa and we are still in 2017 and 2018 tour already started. :-(

:D
These are co-sanctioned tournaments with the Asian tour, the Sunshine tour and the PGA tour of Australasia. The PGA and the European tours start early due to long season, but need to find out real reason behind it.

10 under par 61 round today by Subhankar Sharma... :notworthy: and he is 2nd on the leaderboard just a shot behind the leader.
10 birdies and no dropped shots  and the best round of the day...
:goodluck: for the weekend
Not sure why no Indians are playing a co-sanctioned event except SS.

Nothings gonna stop him from taking the title now. Back to back bogey free round. WOW! Looks like from a different planet altogether. And Sharma is making headlines. He became the first player to be 20 under or better after 54 holes on the European Tour since Rory McIlroy at the 2015 Omega Dubai Desert Classic. :goodluck:

Very weak field but certainly an impressive performance.

Stunning performance by Shubhankar Sharma (69-61-65 for a 5-shot lead going into the final day). It is a relatively weak EPGA field, but Sharma has scorched the course in the last two days.
He is almost certain to also secure a slot in the The (British) Open championship next year: the top-3 non-exempt players in this tournament get slots in the Open (at Canoustie) next year (as long as they finish in the top-10 on the leaderboard here).

Good start for Shubhankar Sharma at the final round as he birdies the 2nd holes and goes to 21-under, the gap is now 6 shots after 3 holes.

Another birdie at the 6th hole for Shubhankar. However the lead is now 4 shots as the second placed golfer has hit 4 birdies.

It's been suspended since 1 pm there, due to "dangerous weather" (whatever it is) after he finished the 7th whole with a 4 shot lead...

I didn't know, this tournament comes under The Open Qualifying series ... So big opportunity for young Shubhankar, who is leading by 4 strokes after 7th hole, to qualify for The Open.
Joburg Open – The Open Qualifying Series - South Africa: Three players, who are not already exempt and who finish in the top ten at the Joburg Open, will secure places in The Open Championship at Carnoustie from 19-22 July 2018. In the event of a tie, the qualifying place(s) will go to the player with the highest ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking at the start of that week.

Only 3 holes left for both #1 & #2. Now 3 strokes ahead. Only a horrible mistake from Subhankar will mess it up.

Won it comfortably by 3 strokes :bounce:
