Masters is played on one of the most difficult courses and Shubhankar just missed the cut. WGC Mexico was another difficult course where he led for majority of the time.

I agree it’s difficult on PGA Tour playing 2-3 events on invitation...to get used to the conditions. SS is just 21 and he has lots of time to learn.

Anirban has been struggling for a lot more than a couple of months, and Shubhankar does not have the game (yet) for the long US mainland courses.

This is a big learning curve for Shubhankar and he will going to learn from these failures ... He is just 21 yrs old.

Anirban fought back to score 4 under round to make cut ... In the 2nd round, he had 6 birdies and 2 bogeys.

At $6.2M Valero Texas Open 2018, San Antonio, Texas, USA

T48 Anirban Lahiri (IND) 76 68 PAR
-------------- CUT @ +1 --------------
Shubhankar Sharma (IND) 76 73 +5

Yes, their biggest problems is that the US courses are longer and they are average of the tee. I think US pga greens are also pretty fast, so that is a double whammy when you are hitting longer irons into the greens. There isn't a easy solution for either except using and learning to control their drivers on more of the holes.

Anirban with a disastrous 5 over par on day-1.

Long overdue that he goes back and plays easier tournaments on the European/Asian tour to get some of the mojo back.

Anirban’s slump continues. Will move out of top 100 in world rankings. Seems like he has lost confidence.. Hardly takes advantage of the PAR 5’s and makes too many mistakes in alternate rounds after a good round. Needs few good finishes soon to secure his card without having that pressure in the last few events. Hope he puts together solid 4 rounds soon!!

Another first round of -3 for Anirban Lahiri (T41) at the AT&T Byron Nelson. Last week too he opened with same but unfortunately, couldn’t get to the weekend rounds.
