In Round 3 Lahiri once again had a good round, however, Swede Pelle Edberg who played the best round of the tournament (62) yesterday in Round 2, played the equal best round of the day and 2nd best round of the tournament (63) in Round 3 to snatch the lead by 1.

The leaderboard at the top looks like this
1 EDBERG, Pelle -14 73 62 63
2 LAHIRI, Anirban -13 65 68 66
3 GONZALEZ, Ricardo -11 68 68 65
T4 MCEVOY, Richard -10 73 65 64
T4 KORHONEN, Mikko -10 72 65 65
T4 KARLBERG, Rikard -10 67 68 67

At halfway mark Lahiri is in good position as far as qualifying is concerned. But he has a good fight if he wants to win the tournament.
SSP Chowrasia played an under par round (-1) but it did not moved him much on the leaderboard as he is currently T70.

Could someone please explain what is the criteria for getting into the qualifiers of the European Tour and PGA Tour?

Also, is there any special incentive provided for winning the qualifiers?

c. Winners of a European Tour Order of Merit event after 1st January 2005.
d. The winner of the last played Qualifying School.
e. The winner of the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2013.
f. EuropeanTourMembersin41st-75thpositionintheEuropeanTourCareerMoneyliston27thAugust2014.
g. The 3 leading entrants on 27th August 2014 to a limit of 20th place in the following Orders of Merit provided that the
relevant applicants had applied to enter the Qualifying School by 27th August 2014:
• The Asian Tour. • PGA Tour of Australasia (Final 2013 Order of Merit).
• The Japan GolfTour. • The SunshineTour (Final 2013 Order of Merit).
Note: Should an exempt player withdraw under the eligibility criteria set out in category g) above after the closing date for the First Stage entries, he may be replaced by the next eligible player under that category (subject to the applicable limits as stated in category g) but any such replacement must take place before the commencement of the Second Stage.

So there will be a cut at the end of the day and SSP is dangerously close to it. He needs to do well today or will be going home. Couldn't get info if there was any prize money.

After R4, Anirban Lahiri stays at T2 inspire of a +1 round on the difficult Stadium course. R5 is on the same course for him. SSP did not make the cut and fails to qualify. The round of the day was a 58 by John Hahn on the easier Tour course which took him to T12 from the brink of being cut. So today is a day for Anirban to quietly consolidate his position.

Lahiri need to be careful. Just one round left. Another bad round and he may miss the tour card. He was 3 over par in the 5th round. And currently he has 3 stroke margin to remain in top 25. Well, I'm quite optimistic that he'll avoid another bad day and get his card. But we have to wait and see whether he can climb back get a better position. :goodluck: Lahiri

Round 6 is on the easier course. Expect a sub-par (around -3 to -5) from him unless he folds under the pressure.
