2012 European Tour - Jeev and SSPC

Post by Prem »

The 2012 Tour got underway last week in South Africa.
This year we only have Jeev Milkha and SSP Chowrasia with cards to play although Shiv Kapur has a card which may get him to some small events.
Also, we will have few more at co-sanctioned events played on the Asian Tour.
Jeev starts the year on 26th Jan at Abu Dhabi event and SSPC may start in Tournamnet of Champions in South Africa next week.

:goodluck: Jeev and SSPC

Surprised to see that Shiv is not playing in South Africa as he would have easily got in the weak field this week and even last week.

Jeev and SSP missed the cut in the BMW International Open, however, Shiv Kapoor is having some good time. HE is playing based on sponsor's invitation (as he dosen't have a card) and on first two days he had been holding on to T6 position with round of 66, 70 (-8). Now he has to repeat this effort for next two days too. C'mon Shiv!

Update: Shiv Kapur could not sustain the magic :( and finished T23 after the last two rounds of 75 and 72. It still may be a good finish for him (Actually best finish so far this season in European tour) considering nothing much is happening for him.

Good to see Jeev making headlines once again.

Bourday and Singh light up Royal Portrush
SUPERB SINGH SHARES LEAD IN IRELAND

Jeev was in his elements as he topped the field with players like World #2 Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell, the three Major Champions at the Irish Open. After finishing in top 10 recently, Jeev is showing some of his old form. Its only first round and nothing much should be made out of it, BUT, its still great to savor it at least for now :) I wish all the best to him in following rounds. Go Jeev!!!

PS: By the way its the other Singh (Vijay) who is making headlines this week in PGATour where he is sharing T2 with two more player. Singh rules!! :)

Jeev had a round of -1 with 4 birdies and 3 bogeys. He slips from the lead to T8 spot. The co-leader with Jeev from round 1 continued with his form with a 5 under round and now heads the leaderboard. So at the halfway Jeev is 4 behind the leader with a score of -8.

Jeev did well to stay in touch as he was playing in the last group in windy conditions.
It would have helped if he had avoided couple of bogeys.
Good luck for today - the moving day.
If he can put himself up there in top 5, we are in for a great Sunday.

Jeev's up and down rounds continues as he cards a 75 in R3 to be T25 at -5.. 7 off the leader...seems like missed a great chance for a good top 5 finish..oh well still a round to go..

Jeev in serious contention at the Scottish Open. He has finished his final round with a 67, which gives him a 17-under par score and places him T3. Two others have 4-5 rounds to play and are 18-under par currently. SSP Chowrasia finished 13-under par, which currently places him T11.

Molinari, Noren and Warren will now play their final hole, and each of them is now tied with Jeev at 17-under par at the very top of the leaderboard. Let's see which ones can par this final hole to go into a play-off with Jeev. (If one of them has a birdie, they will have pipped Jeev at the post).

seems like quite a few players are getting nervous, so Molinari remains the biggest threat with a hole to go...
