2011 PGA Tour

Post by Prem »

Jeev and Daniel Chopra lost their PGA cards for 2011 :damn:
Arjun secured it for 2011 & 2012 with his win at Wydhnam.
Daniel is playing the Qualifying and he tees off in the second stage tomorrow along with Rahil Gangjee.
:goodluck: to both and hope they make it to the Final Qualies starting 1st December.
Looks like Jeev is giving up on PGA Tour for 2011....

Rahil Gangjee is T14 after 2 rounds with Top 19 and ties going to Final Qualies.
C'mon Rahil 2 more decent rounds and than you can have a crack in the Final Qualies... :goodluck:
Daniel is doing pretty bad and looks like he will be playing NW Tour next year
unless he can go really low in the last 2 rounds.

Do they play four rounds in the qualifying? I thought it was more than that.

Thanks Prem. I didn't read your post properly. Thanks for the clarification. Wow, it is really tough to qualify directly to the ATP tour.

Sad to see Daniel's precipitous decline this year. Something is seriously wrong, and perhaps he needs to take a break and come back stronger (first on the NW tour) next year. It might be a good idea for him to play more in Europe next year as well.

Congrats Rahil...that's some achievement in itself
Wish him good luck for the gruelling 6 round final Qualies.
Chance to get a PGA card or a NW Tour card - week of his life coming up.

Congratulations to Rahil Gangjee. Quite an achievement to make the final round of PGA qualifying ahead of the long-standing pro tour fixture Daniel Chopra.

Decent start by Rahil.
Played -1 for round one which places him T29 for now.
Started with a Double Bogey in his 2nd hole but showed good composure to card -1
Leader is at -7. Rahil needs to push on a bit in round 2.

Rahil has started his 2nd round and played 6 holes with two birdies and just now a bogey on the 6th hole. He drops to T17 currently.
Its too early to say anything, but any way, it is a good start and that is good for him - Go Rahil!!!

At the PGA Q-school in Florida, after a -1 and E in the first two days, Rahil Gangjee had a poor friday with a +3, but yesterday was great with a -5 with a late eagle on the 17th hole. That brought him up to tied for 57th with a -3. He has started Sunday with a birdie and double bogey today (Sunday) in the first 3 holes (Update: Two more birdies by half way for -1 so far. Tied for 52nd with a -4 overall)

Seems like you need to be around -8 now for top-25 and Ties, to get the PGA tour card, but he seems to be in good position for a nationwide tour card (top-50 and ties). One more round to go after today....

Update: One more birdie. After hole 13, Rahil is -5 overall and T44 .. Getting interesting now.

But next 2 holes turned into nightmare for him ... On par5 14th hole he scored double bogey and then on par3 15th hole he managed bogey ... He scored birdie on 18th hole to finished with PAR for 5th round ... So now he is T61 with -3, I think he is definetely out of contention of getting PGA tour card.
