:notworthy: Excellent performance by Jeev to be playing on Friday. :bounce:
If Jeev can put some pressure early on Poulter...he is beatable as Poulter does have issue with his temperament.
Hope Jeev steady play upsets the rhythm of Poulty today. :goodluck: Jeev

Look at the PGA match report for Jaidee
No. 12 THONGCHAI JAIDEE def. No. 4 ROBERT KARLSSON 4 and 3 Scorecard
Jaidee has won both of his matches in impressive fashion, having beaten Ross Fisher 5 and 4 in the first round. On Thursday, the man from India never trailed after Karlsson conceded the first hole. A birdie at the eight put Jaidee 3 up. Karlsson, meanwhile, had a stretch of seven holes in which he made four bogeys, the last of which was on the 12th that put Jaidee 6 up. "He didn't play well on the front nine," Jaidee said. "He came back on the back nine a bit ... I played well today."
So the PGA tour has granted Jaidee Indian citizenship :D ;)

Anyway, impressive performance by Asians. Only Master's winner Yang is out as Japanese sensation teenager ISHIKAWA, along with JEEV and JAIDEE makes the 3rd round. However, as Ishikawa faces Jaidee in 3rd round, one of them won't make it to last 8. Hopefully, if Jeev beats Poulter, we'll have assured Asian Semifinalist as Jeev will face the other Asian winner in Quarters (4th round)

Everyone had been talking about Ishikawa and predicting him to reach the final. But not so fast. Jaidee has already won the first two holes with 2 birdies to go 2 up against Ishikawa. I'll be following this match along with Jeev's. I'll be rooting for Jaidee whom I had followed a lot along with Indians in Asian tour.

Jaidee is a solid player & i think he will win. He is physically very strong. He is a retired army man.

Poulter makes a birdie to go 1 up. :(

I think both made the birdie in the 2nd hole. Need to confirm.
Yes, both made birdies. So Poulter has 2 birdies in two holes. Meanwhile Jaidee hit his first par to halve the 3rd hole.
Jaidee 2up in 3. Poulter 1 up in 2

Poulter looks hot. He had another birdie chance on par 3 with in third 6 to 10 ft which he missed. This hole is halved. I didn't see Jeev's shot. :( The telecast won't show Jeev until he is probably winning a hole with a birdie. Both Ishikawa and Jaidee made bogeys in 4th at par
Jaidee 2up in 4. Poulter 1 up in 3

Finally they show Jeev. He has to putt to halve from 3 or 4 ft and he did on 4th hole. Ishikawa and Jaidee halve the 5th with par.
Jaidee 2up in 5. Poulter 1 up in 4

Potter putts a long one to go 2 up against Jeev after 5th :( While Ishikawa pulls back one as Jaidee bogeyed the 6th.
Jaidee 1 up in 6. Poulter 2 up in 5

A nice chip upto two feet by Jaidee that puts him in great position to win the 7th. Ishikawa must putt a long one (may be 15 ft) to save the hole. He didn't. So Jaidee is 2 up once again. Jeev misses a short putt to lose the 6th :damn: Is his nerves in play?
Jaidee 2 up in 7. Poulter 3 up in 6

It will be tough for Jeev to make a comeback from here. :(

Jeev win's his first hole with a par :) Finally some good news here. Jaidee wins the 8th. Both of them won the hole with par as their opponents blink(bogey). J rules for the moment ;)
Jaidee 3 up in 8. Poulter 2 up in 7

Damage has been done ........ Jeev missed an easy putt to lose the hole & it will surely cost him. Otherwise he would have been just 1 down now

Jaidee marches on and Jeev stumbles once again. A bad chip saw Jeevs ball pass away too far :damn: and he missed the return par putt to concede the hole. On the other hand Jaidee hit a super long (20 Yds +) putt to come with a feet of the hole and won the hole. So Jaidee makes a turn with very well on top of the world.
Jaidee 4 up in 9. Poulter 3 up in 8

About 10 ft putt by Jeev stops right at the lip missing a chance to pull back one :( So Jeev faces a tall order to square as he makes a turn at 3 dn. Jaidee halves the 10th
Jaidee 4 up in 10. Poulter 3 up in 9

Jaidee looks good to go back to hotel first. Ishikawa's tee shot goes out of bounds giving Jaidee advantage on the 11th. Jeev bogeys another one to go down by 4. Does he care now ??? And Jaidee pockets another hole.
Jaidee 5 up in 11. Poulter 4 up in 10

Jaidee is in hurry to go back. He sets up the 12th with another very long putt and wins it to go 6 up. Halving the 13th will finish his match. Poulter birdies the 11th to go 5 up. Poulter is also shooting to finish the match on 13th.
Jaidee 6 up in 12. Poulter 5 up in 11

Ishikawa chips in to birdie the 13th. Jaidee's turn to putt to close out the match. And he misses. That extends their match. And Paul Casey closes out his match to become the first one to finish. Following him,Garcia finishes his match. Jeev halves the 12th. Poulter can finish the match by winning the 13th.
Jaidee 5 up in 13. Poulter 5 up in 12

Ishikawa needs a birdie to extend the match further after Jaidee missed the birdie. and he misses to give the match to Jaidee 5 and 4. Congrats to Jaidee to make Quarters in his first appearance. Unfortunately, he won't play Jeev in quarters. Jeev misses a chip in to halve the 13th and extend the game to 14th hole.
Jaidee 5 and 4 Poulter 5 up in 13

Jeev chips and misses birdie. Poulter has to par it to win the match. He has 5 ft and he makes it. That's all over.
Poulter 5 and 4

Jeev could not win this one but he must be happy to start his 2010 PGA campaign on a positive note by finishing in top 10 (T9) in this big WGC Accenture Match Play. Jeev stays here in US to play next week in Phoenix.

Impressive momentum building wins by both Poulter and Jaidee and that sets up an interesting quarterfinal match up as they square up against each other tomorrow.

Tough match and it proved that way ... Poulter was too hot for Jeev to handle.

Still creditable performance by him to reached final 16.

Match Report from PGA Tour -
After a couple of tight matches, the Englishman finally enjoyed a little less stress Friday in dispatching Singh. Poulter opened quickly with birdies on his first two holes and, in his words, "pretty much kept my foot down the whole way around the course." A 15-foot birdie putt on the par-4 5th put him 2 up, and Singh followed with a bogey on the par-3 sixth when he found the rough with his tee shot and couldn't get up-and down. Singh then faded with bogeys on the eighth and 10th holes, as Poulter advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since his fourth-place finish here in 2005. "I played pretty much flawless today," he said. "I executed pretty much every shot I wanted to hit. There wasn't any mis-hits out there. So I found my job very clincal today and it was nice."

Poulter could win this event. Too solid in putting, looks like man with a mission.

Arjun Atwal barely failed to make the cut at the US Open. With 75s on both the first two days (+4 on each day), he fell just short of the cut line, which was at 149 (7 over par).

No Indians in the field at The Open, starting at St Andrews on Thursday...
Vijay Singh is the closest we'll get!

Arjun Atwal will be our sole representative at this week's WGC - HSBC Champions event in Shanghai.
Courtesy of his win in August, Arjun made the field.
Good luck AA in a field of 78 champions from all Tours around the world.
