On the final day at the Greenbrier Classic, Jeev started with a bogey in second hole but then scored 5 birdies on 5th, 6th, 9th, 13th and 17th holes to scored decent 4 under round ... So with 10 under final score Jeev is guranteed top-40 finish ... Other hand Arjun had poor 1 over round which consist 4 bogeys and 3 birdies to finished 6 under for the tournament, he finished on T70.

First round at Turning Stone Resort Championship Jeev had so-so round ... He scored 1 under round with 3 birdies and 2 bogeys ... Currently he is sitting on bubble of making cut at T59, today he need at least 2 under or better to make cut for weekend.

Jeev missed cut as in second round he scored 1 over to made PAR score after 2 rounds ... Cut was at -2 at Turning Stone Resort Championship.

What a day!!!!!
Earlier today Shiv Kapur led the European tournament and now Arjun Atwal leads the PGA tournament. And Jeev is placed T3, three strokes behind Arjun. Arjun played a superb round of -9 with 9 birdies head the leaderboard on first day at Wyndham Championship. He leads Brandt Snedeker by two strokes and a group of 7 players including Jeev by 3 strokes. Jeev also played a bogey free round with 6 birdies. The current top 10 (that includes 14 players) have only two non US players and that are Arjun and Jeev.

I should not get too excited as this is just the first day. There are 37 more players with in 5 strokes. Anyone can vault to the top spot with a superb round and we will see lot of changes in the next three rounds. Arjun will still need some decent rounds to remain in contention. It will be a very difficult 2nd round for Arjun as it is not at all easy to play a decent round after an extraordinary round like he played today. While Jeev will also need at least one more superb round and two decent rounds to finish in top 10. Anyway a good start and I wish both of them as well as Shiv Kapur in Europe goodluck.

If Arjun Atwal keeps this up, he'll have a new PGA TOUR card in no time. Atwal tied a tournament record with a 61 Thursday and took a two-stroke lead at the Wyndham Championship.
It was quite the encouraging start for Atwal, who lost his TOUR card last month and had to play his way into this event in a Monday qualifier across town at Forest Oaks Country Club -- where this tournament was held from 1977-2007
He played that course twice before, finishing sixth in 2004, and wound up shooting a 67 to share first place with three other qualifiers. No Monday qualifier has won a tournament since Fred Wadsworth did it at the 1986 Southern Open.

"You get used to making a lot of birdies in the Monday qualifier -- otherwise you won't make it," Atwal said. "I kind of continued that today."

The loss of his card capped a series of events that began when he injured his shoulders last year while lifting weights. He received a minor medical extension, but when he came up short on the money list following the RBC Canadian Open, he lost his card.

He isn't eligible for the Playoffs that begin next week in New Jersey, not even if he wins. But he can claim his card for 2011 with a victory -- either in Greensboro or a Fall Series tournament -- or a climb up the money lists of the PGA TOUR or Nationwide Tour.

"I prefer to win," Atwal said with a laugh.

Three more days like this, and he'll almost certainly take care of that.

Atwal started his bogey-free round on the back nine, made the turn at 4 under and birdied three of his final four holes, sinking a 7-foot putt on No. 9 to cap things.

His big day also included a rare birdie on the peskiest hole of the day -- the 18th hole.

Arjun had decent round of 3 under but that kept him in lead with Brandt Snedeker after 2 rounds ...

In second round Arjun scored 5 birdies and 2 bogeys ... He and Brandt r -12 after 2 rounds ... But there are 20 players with in 4 strokes ... Jeev also had decent 2 under round ... He scored 3 birdies and a bogey ... He is currently T10 with 8 under.

Arjun Atwal of course is a very familiar name in this part of the world, having won big EPGA titles in both Singapore and Malaysia (and loads of APGA titles all over the region). So it wasn't surprising to find his 61 in the first round featured prominently on the sports pages of the Straits Times yesterday, with a big photo of him as well. Terrific to see Arjun sustain it through three rounds. One more round and a maiden PGA tour title looks to be in his pocket. Go Arjun! Here's a great write-up in the PGA tour site:

Jeev is placed T19 at the end of the third round, making this the very first tournament in which two Indians are in the top 20 of a PGA tour event going into the final day.
