Before that Gaganjeet Bhullar is playing the Final Qualifying for the 2010 card.
He tees off tomorrow at Barcelone Spain and wish him the best of luck in his quest for a EPGA card.
Its 6 rounds of gruelling Golf with the first cut applied after 4 rounds when the top 70 go thru to play the last 2 rounds.

So target is to finish Top 30 !!!

A slow start for Gagan in the qualifying as he finished 1 under par that puts him 9 strokes behind the leader(-10) and 5 strokes behind the group of 5 players tied at -6. Its a 6 day grueling tournament the players will go through lots of emotional roller coaster. Gagan had 3 birdies and 2 bogeys for the day.

A bad second day for Gagan as 3 over par round puts him at +2 overall and T96. His round included 6 bogeys and 3 birdies. As Prem said Gagan need to finish in top 30 and ties to earn European card. He is in tough position now and needs a great round to come on track. :goodluck: Gagan!

Last hole double bogey saw Gaganjeet Bhullar losing his 2 stroke advantage to finish the day at par. But that also means no improvement in his overall score, and with other players passing him, he slipped further from T96 to T104. Gagan has left himself a tough target for the 4th day to make the cut. He'll probably need to play a round of 5 under to make the cut. A round of 4 under will also give him a fighting chance. Last two days he could not break par and so far his best round has been the first round where he was -1.

Hopefully Gagan will be fired up tomorrow and with some luck he can turn around his fortunes. Once again :goodluck:

Double Bogey on the last hole :damn: oh how many times has this happened this year to our players.
Not sure whether they switch off after a tiring round or its just the pressure.
Anyways it could cost Gagan chance to play for the 30 cards.......
He is playing the easier of the 2 courses today and hopefully attacks from the start and gets a low round.....
:goodluck: Gagan

Gagan's campaign is coming to end very soon. He could not make any progress up to now and holes are running out. He made couple birdies and couple bogeys in the front nine. In the back nine he has played three holes at par. So six holes left and he still needs 5 birdies to make the cut. That's not going to happen. Currently, he is +2 and T111 and the projected cut is at -3.

Update: Suddenly, Gagan's score was updated and it now shows that the next three holes were also played at par. His position remains unchanged. Three more holes to go and then flight back to India.

Position became worse, with the knowledge that his dream of a EPGA card for 2010 is over....
Again Double Bogey on the last hole :damn:
But, Gaganjeet can take another route to get his card.
Since he is ranked high on the Asian Tour, he will play most of the co-sanctioned events next year.
He can secure card for 3 years ;) by winning one of the events or garner enough money to get invites and card for 2011

2010 European Tour-Alfred Dunhill Championship

Post by ajay »

This Shiv Kapur will be in South Africa to play Alfred Dunhill Championship. Earlier Indians used to be regular here, but they stopped playing this tournament for a while. But this time Shiv is playing here. IIRC long back Jeev played in final group with Ernie Els and probably finished 2nd in this tournament. That was big at that time.
Good luck Shiv!

Prem he heard your call and made couple of birdies in the next two holes, but he was still short of one birdie to maintain his first round position. For example, James Kingston, who was tied with Shiv, got a 2 under par 2nd round and he is T13 now. Here are some other players' score to give some idea of where does Shiv stand. These are the players who were tied or behind Shiv after first round. Look at the leader, what a round he had, -9! He has really set himself apart with the rest of the field with a 4 strokes lead.

1 T14 MARTIN, PABLO -9 18 -13 68 63
T2 T14 ELS, ERNIE -5 18 -9 68 67
T4 T14 CANETE, ARIEL-4 18 -8 68 68
T8 T25 ROCK, ROBERT -4 18 -7 69 68
T13 T14 KINGSTON, JAMES -2 18 -6 68 70
T23 T14 Shiv Kapur -1 18 -5 68 71
