PGA Championship - third round:
On a day when golfers make a move to position themselves to make the final assault on Sunday, Daniel faltered. He was paired with Sergio Garcia and started well with birdies on the first two holes. A double bogey on the fourth hole dropped him to even par for the day, but another birdie on the par-five 5th hole brought him into red numbers. He made pars the rest of the way on the front nine. His game fell apart on the back nine and he made a double bogey (10th hole) and bogies on the 13th, 17th and 18th holes to finish four-over par 76. Sergio meanwhile played his round at five-under par 67.

PGA Championship - fourth round:
Daniel started off with a bang - a birdie on the first hole - but a double bogey on the 7th hole has dropped him to +1 after playing 13 holes. He is currently tied for 46th place. Most of the golfers who started their round early today have scores in the black figures and it could mean that the conditions are tough on the course on Sunday.

Re: 2006 PGA Majors- PGA Championship / Daniel Chopra and Vijay Singh
Is superman back? Tiger Woods has won the last two tournaments (British Open and Buick Open) that he had entered and now leads the PGA Championship going into the fourth round. He has never lost a major championship when leading or tied after the third round. He is 36-of-39 as a pro when he has led or co-led after the third round.
Interesting trivia and tidbit:
1. Who (or as per Jay 'Whom") are the three golfers to beat Tiger in the 36-of-39 run?
2. Luke Donald, the co-leader with Tiger at Medinah, applied at Stanford University because that is where Tiger went to school for a year, but was rejected. He played for Northwestern, became the college player of the year and an All-American, and he broke Tiger's Golfstat Cup record for lowest stroke average.

Daniel makes back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes and moves to -1 for the 4th round and -2 overall.
Addendum:
Daniel made a bogey on par-4 16th hole.

I asked earlier:
Who (or as per Jay 'Whom") are the three golfers to beat Tiger in the 36-of-39 run?
I will make it easier and name one of the three golfers. Ed Fiori beat Tiger. Now name the other two. Need a clue? Both are playing at the PGA Championship today.
Ed Fiori beat Tiger nearly ten years back at Quad City Classic when he recored 66 68 67 67 . Tiger led after the third round but ended up tied for 5th place with a card of 69 64 67 and 72.

Daniel ended up with back-to-back bogies on the 16th and 17th holes and then made a par on the 18th hole. He finished his first PGA Championship with a card reading 72 67 76 73 (even par).

Daniel lost opportunity of finishing in top 25 becoz of Last two rounds ... But making cut and finishing in top 50 should be definetly good start for Daniel in PGA Championship.
PGA Championship - Final score with earning.
T41 Daniel Chopra 72-67-76-73 Even $23,080

Re: 2006 PGA Majors/WGC/Bridgestone Invitational/ Kapur & Vijay
2006 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
Shiv Kapur and Vijay Singh will join a host of golfers including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Goosen, Jim Furyk and K.J. Choi in a limited field World Golf Championship in Akron, Ohio this week. The field is limited to 78 golfers.
BTW, Sports-India headlines news have made it to Daniel Chopra's website. When I checked his website today, I found that he has put a link to SI news. He has a link to Sports-India website ever since he made his website.
