Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Arjun has pulled out of this week's St. Jude Classic......
Hope he is practicing for the US Open and it is not related to any injury....or maybe fatigue after qualifying for US Open on Monday....36 holes in a day !!!
Since Arjun has limited starts on PGA Tour, he may be choosing to skip this event, as he may not be 100%

He has pulled out because he wanted to get in some extra practice at Pebble Beach.... He has decided to camp in early at the US Open venue

Arjun is often seen practising withTiger Woods.*sridinats* wrote:He has pulled out because he wanted to get in some extra practice at Pebble Beach.... He has decided to camp in early at the US Open venue
Even 2 weeks ago, before the Memorial Tournament, Arjun practised with Tiger.
Today in the Golf channel, they showed Tiger walking around the course with Arjun.
Lets hope Arjun continues his good form in the Major....
Not sure Arjun has played any Major, atleast in last 5-6 years ??

Arjun Atwal picked as a "sleeper" pick by pgatour.com. Here is what they had to say:
ARJUN ATWAL. Originally my sleeper pick for St. Jude before he WD'ed, Atwal has been getting better with each start. Played a practice round with Pebble Beach experts Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson, so hopefully some of that winning knowledge rubbed off.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Very interesting that the PGA tour has noticed Arjun's steady improvement in recent weeks. The fact that he has managed to practice at Pebble Beech with Tiger Woods should certainly bolster his confidence going into the US Open. All the best, Arjun!!

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Before his back injury, Arjun was a very steady player. Clearly he has needed time to get his match fitness back. I hope that he cements his PGA card with a good showing in the Open.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
What a beautiful, heart-warming article. It brought a few lumps to my throat. The reporter was on his honeymoon when he serendipitously met Arjun at the Nepal Open in 1995, and seems to have followed his career ever since. One of Arjun's dreams came true yesterday, but I think many more dreams will come true in the next three years. Having the PGA tour card has to be a huge relief, and I think Arjun can now go back to winning titles all over the world again -- in the US ofcourse, but also in Asia and Europe.
Congratulations to Arjun! I have written about this in the tournament thread, but Arjun has been a true pioneer among Indian (i.e., full Indian citizen) golfers on the PGA tour. The first to secure a PGA tour card now becomes the first to win a PGA title. Well done, Arjun!

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Marvellous to see Arjun finish T3 this week at the PGA tour's McGladrey Classic in Georgia. With this, he has moved into the top-60 in the prize-money list.
