Arjun's long spell of poor form seems to be over, with a superb title triumph at the Dubai Open (on the Asian Tour) earlier this month followed by a reasonable 9th place finish in the season-ending McLeod Russell Cup on the PGTI at his home course, the RCGC. Hopefully 2015 will be a fruitful year in Asia for Arjun!

Unfortunately, Arjun doesnt have his playing card and will get very few opportunities on the PGA Tour...
Hopefully he can get some invites or play the Monday qualifier....Esle, he has to concentrate on Asian Tour only

Prem: I am aware that he doesn't have a card but needs invites to play on the PGA tour. Luckily, he has an Asian Tour card this year thanks to his win in Dubai last season. One never knows, Arjun may use a sponsor invitation and win a PGA tour event. Meanwhile, he should keep making cuts and playing four days of gold instead of two in all tournaments that he enters.

Arjun Atwal has a win on the PGA tour which one can only dream of. Remarkable achievement. He should play more and needs to get his form back quickly. Form is temporary but class is permanent.

Arjun is 43, and is probably past his golfing prime. But he has a PGA tour title (Wyndham championship 2010), one narrow playoff loss on the PGA tour (BellSouth Classic 2005, losing the playoff to Mickelson), 3 European tour titles, and 8 Asian tour titles. It would be nice if he can add to the latter with a concerted program of play on the APGA, although he lives in the US and so probably cannot commit to playing in Asia for a prolonged stretch.

Arjun turned 50 years old this year (2023), and is now eligible to play on the seniors tours.

This week (October 6-8, 2023) he is playing in a PGA Tour Champions event (Sanderson Farms Championship). It is his 6th tournament on this seniors tour for the year, and has one top-3 finish so far.

Here is an article on him posted one day ago on the PGA Tour website:

The seniors tour in tennis never took off. Is this a invitational tournament or prof league?

PGA Tour Champions is a regular US-based PGA tour for golfers 50 years of age or older. It is a very competitive tour that has the legends of the game as members who have to qualify for tournaments based on published eligibility criteria.

Arjun does not yet have a regular membership status (he is not exempt), but he qualified for this week's tournament based on his Top-10 finish in the previous tournament. The exact wording on the PGA Tour site states, "Player finishing 10th place or better in the immediately preceding PGA TOUR Champions cosponsored event who is not otherwise exempt." He could also get into tournaments if he gets an invitation.

Vijay Singh is exempt and can play any regular tournament on this tour.
