Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Atwal is now believed to be on the path to recovery and has also started practising. He says he will start competitive golf with a Nationwide Tour event starting June 25, to gain tournament sharpness, before getting back to the PGA Tour

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Thanks Sri for the news. Hope he remains injury free for the rest of the year and gets medical exemption of some sort for 2010 season, if he cant secure his card by playing well.*sridinats* wrote:Atwal is now believed to be on the path to recovery and has also started practising. So the wait continues for Arjun's return.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
It seems the Nationwide Tour Players Cup does not allow PGA Tour players and Arjun says he wasn't aware of that.... He is looking now to make a return at John Deere....Hopefully, we will finally see him in action, fully fit and ready to go for a title.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
I believe there is a PGA Tour rule which says golfers who are eligible to play in a PGA Tour event, cannot play in a lesser tour's event in the same week. It is the 13 point on the Nationwide Tour Eligibility Requirements-:

Goodluck to Arjun! Looking forward to see him in action. It'll be tough fight for Arjun to keep his card for 2010 as he has already missed so many tournaments. I hope he gets in forma quickly and get some very good results.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Arjun is in the field this week for the John Deere Classic. He will have to leave a mark in the remaining tournaments to get the card for next season

Anyways, it will be grat of he can retain the card by playing well for the rest of the year.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Arjun has simply not been the same golfer since he returned from his long injury break. His disastrous season (which has featured a series of some 7 missed cuts on the PGA tour) just got worse last week when he failed to make the cut in a Nationwide Tour event -- finishing at T135 after two rounds.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
This week too Arjun is in NW tour. I don't get it. When Arjun started after the long injury layoff, he wanted to start on NW tour. That would have been ideal come back but somehow, he was not eligible for NW as he had regular PGA tour card. So now how he became eligible?
Currently Arjun is -1 after 10 holes and T54. Arjun

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
Arjun Atwal is having a good day as he currently leads the field at NW with a score of -12! I hope he has these days more often. Arjun played a round of -8 with 10 birdies (birdies on more than half of the course!) and two bogeys. This has moved him to share of lead with one more player But still many more players to play in the 2nd round and possibility of someone passing him.
Yesterday also, Arjun had a good round as he finished with a round of -4 and T16. I'm glad to see Arjun doing well again. Its a shame that this year has been a flop due to injury. What a waste of hard earned PGAtour card! Hopefully, he'll make a fresh start in 2010 and do well.

Near the end of the 2nd day Arjun is 2nd all alone! Arjun had the joint best round (-8) of the day.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread
After his spectacular 64 on the second day, Arjun had a forgettable 2-over par round of 74 on the third day -- and slid from 2nd to T19. Clearly he is still struggling for consistency, but nice to see him doing reasonably here -- and I hope he can finish off in style on Sunday.
