Jeev is now ranked the best golfer in Asia :notworthy:
Jeev is at 36, just ahead of KJ Choi at 37.
To overtake Choi is remarkable as just 2 years back the gap was simply enormous.
Up and higher for Jeev :goodluck:

Indeed! This is great to have an Indian undisputed Asia No. 1 for the first time. :notworthy:
:notworthy: Its one another feather in his cap. KJ Choi has been the No.1 for many years. Unfortunately, Jeev has been slipping in ranking for some time, but KJ Choi slipped faster. I hope Jeev gets some good results and bring back his ranking in 20s soon. Go Jeev!

Technically Japanese Shingo Katayama is ahead of Jeev and hence he cant be called Asia's number one (geographically).
However, in golfing terms Japan is not part of Asia and hence Jeev is the No. 1 ;)

jeev thinking about us pgatour card
The only reason I can think of is that I am putting too much pressure on myself. I have a good chance to secure my US PGA Tour card for the next year, and the first step towards that is to attain the Special Temporary Membership (STM), which will allow me to gain unlimited sponsors exemption this year. Otherwise, I can only play a maximum of 12 events on the PGA Tour, including the Majors and the WGCs

It is a great achievement to be # 1 in Asia! Well done Jeev!
Next landmark for Jeev:

However, we'll have to wait for it for few more weeks when Jeev'll be back in US to play the next Major - US Open. Jeev's current PGA earning is $519,395 and he need another $18,563.00 to reach the target of $537,958 for STM. Track Jeev's PGA earning for this year at Yahoo's Player page

Probably a top 50 finish at US Open will get him to this target. But he should'nt worry about this and instead he should be thinking bigger to finish in top 10 in US Open.

Jeev has given everyone a bit of a scare by saying he is doubtful for the US Open. But now it seems he might just go on and play the tournament-:

The final decision, he says, is still pending.
