Good to see Jeev earned big pay cheque on regular PGA tour tournament ... Yes, hopefully he seal his PGA Tour card in next couple of events.

Jeev manages to stay inside Top 50 with his credible T7 finish last week.
Jeev is at 48 and needs some good results soon, if he wants to stay inside top-50.
He will be watching the President's Cup on the telly this week and preparing for his final 2 events on PGA Tour over the next 2 weeks.

If he finishes inside top 125 on the money list, does he get 2010 card automatically ? Any ideas.....

I'm not sure that the WGC results are counted in the PGA tour calculations. This link has Jeev with 369 K which is quite far from that needed for a card.

Check Jeev's profile on Yahoo. WGC events count but PGA website doesn't show this. I don't know why it doesn't show it.

There was same confusion earlier about the WGC money for STM (Special Temporary Membership) too. Check out the discussion in August month in this thread itself. Ultimately, we figured out that WGC money counts towards STM but PGA website won't show it.

Big decision by Jeev not to defend his Singapore Open title this week, and to instead play in the Volvo World Matchplay championship:

Agreed...However, I will blame the EPGA for the scheduling ???
They should not have had 2 such high profile events in the same week.
Jeev is very proud to be the First Indian to play a WORLD MATCHPLAY EVENT and hence his decision as he may not get another chance.
He can Singapore Open in future again....
Also in World Matchplay he is assured of 100k+ Euros prize money even if he were to finish last in his group :D

Yes, it is perfectly reasonable to choose the prestige of the World Matchplay championship.

Aha, with new rule introduce to calculating ranking - i.e. Maximum Divisor - Jeev jumped 9 places and starting year 2010 on 50th place.
The Maximum Divisor is designed to diminish current concerns that players might be penalised for playing a significant number of tournaments because their divisor is much higher as a result. At a time when Tours and sponsors alike are looking for players to enter more events, the Board agreed that the introduction of a “Maximum Divisor” over the two-year ranking period would alleviate this situation.

This divisor will be for a player’s last 52 events – the current average number of events played by the world’s top 200 players over the two-year ranking cycle. By using the “Last-52” events, a player who exceeds the maximum divisor will retain his current ranking points and only lose his earlier degraded points and retain a divisor of 52.

Following is the exact language regarding the Maximum Divisor measure:
Starting on Week No.1 2010 (week ending January 3) a Maximum Divisor will be introduced represented by a “Player’s last 60 events”, followed by a reduction of the number of events every six months until finally on Week 1 2012 (week ending January 8) with a Maximum Divisor of the “Player’s last 52 events”.

Nice big article in WSJ on Jeev and his partnership with Callaway..
Callaway Golf Co., the U.S. golf equipment manufacturer, is opening an Indian unit and has signed India's most famous golfer as a brand ambassador in an effort to tap the growing popularity of the sport in the world's second most populous country after China.

Does anyone know Jeevs schedule for 2010. Why is he not playing in current PGA tour events?

Jeev is going to start his season with EPGA events in the desert; Abu Dhabi, Doha, Emirates and then Delhi, starting next week. Looks like he'll start PGA from WGC - Accenture Match Play Championship on ward.

Jeev was blessed iwth a baby boy last Friday.
Great news for Jeev and that was the reason for him not playing inQatar.
As some will know he and Kudrat had lost a baby in 2008.

Jeev takes a break from PGA Tour.
Looks like he is going to take rest for next 1 month....
He could have played next week's Houston Open, but decided to take a break and re-charge his batteries and improve his putting a bit. His putting has been awful in last few PGA events.
