Yes, Olympics does count for World Rankings.

Aditi should be able to get back into Top-170 rankings.

After Aditi’s wonderful performance in the Olympics, Aditi jumps 46 places to be world no. 154
Some consolation for missing the bronze medal by a whisker.
Hope she moves inside top 100 soon and retains her LPGA card for next year by using this momentum and form.

Good summary of her extraordinary putting (and weak driving):

13 strokes gained putting on the field is beyond off the charts.

Just found something that totally shocked me. I was actually looking at what Aditi needed to do to improve her length, when her putting game is other-worldly, and supposedly the best in golf, like some people felt - at least based on this Olympics.

Here is an article from 2017 a few months after the last Olympics, when the great David Leadbetter was in India to open his academy in Pune. Here what Ledbetter, perhaps the best golf coach in the world, said then:
Leadbetter, who has seen Aditi Ashok at the Olympics.... said, "Aditi could be the beacon for Indian ladies golf, has a huge potential. She is just 18 and has the length. As she gets stronger and improves her short game, she will be very good"
So, he thought she had to improve only her short game! Boy, has she done that... So, what happened to her long game, or is it just Covid taking away 15 yards of length that put her at such a disadvantage? Interesting.

Looks like she should simply get on a good physical training program and work with a good first swing coach, and she should be able to make a LOT OF money in golf, and perhaps get us a medal in 3 years.

Not a great round today for Aditi at the British Open, as she bogeyed a couple of holes in the back 9... Finished +2 for the day... So +1 overall and T59, just inside the projected cut now... A few more players to finish, but it looks like she will make the cut.

Update: The cut was at +1, and Aditi made the cut with a T58
