Simply a terrific performance by Anirban in very windy and cold weather ... Also, good to see an Indian is back in the top-100 golf rankings.

Lahiri and his wife are expecting their second child, a boy, to arrive on May 22, the final day of the PGA Championship at Southern Hills. Lahiri has earned his place at the PGA Championship but is prepared to give it a miss if the baby does not arrive earlier than the due date

Anirban is currently 4th in entering the final round of the LIV golf event. 4th place prize money is over a $1 MM, so could be a great pay day for Anirban if he can hold on in the final round.

Anirban loses playoff and finished T-2. Wins $1.812mm, easily his biggest payday in his career.

Re: Anirban Lahiri - PB WR #33 (28-Mar-15), India #1
Anirban missed out on a win twice.
First he had a short putt for Eagle on his last hole in normal play….that would have taken him to 16 under and a win.
Secondly, in the first playoff hole, he had the best birdie chance, when Dustin Johnson eagled from 60 feet. Dustin’s shot was hit so hard that would have rolled past but it went in.
So Anirban finished T2 in his debut event and wins USD1.8M He had won USD2.2M in March at The Players Championship.
The winner got 4M dollars!!
But with Anirban’s team Crushers GC finishing second here in the team event, it also gave him a one fourth share of USD1.5M.
So Anirban takes home USD2.3M, his biggest payday just beating his March winnings.
USD4.5M in just 2 events for Anirban in 2022, even after finishing runners up in both

Good on Anirban to win the juicy Saudi petrodollars. Liv may or may not last but the money made here will.

Agreed that LIV isn't a commercial sports venture but is sports washing for the Saudi regime. However, if someone like Trump returns to power in 2024, LIV may continue as they could host even more tournaments at Trump golf courses (beyond the one which they did this year) and that alone may justify the spend for the Saudis (given that the Saudi regime is entirely dependent on the US for its survival).

Does he pay taxes in the US, India (both high tax jurisdictions for wealthy individuals) or in a tax haven?

These pay checks are crazy amounts. It looks like in 1-year, Anirban can cover his lifetime earnings at this rate. Even if tour shuts down after an year, he would have earned enough - play on the Asian Tour for a couple of years of cooling off period before getting re-admitted back on the main tour again.
Looks like he might earn around 10 million dollars this year itself.
