Vidit at a career high 2721.2 ELO after IOM tournament.

Third tournament in a row where he has played at a 2750+ level; he is very clearly one of our 2 best players over the last year along with Vishy.

Is he better than Hari at the moment?

Over the last 12 months, definitely.

Will he ever get to Hari's best level (ELO of 2770)? He needs to improve his endgame a lot; he should have beaten Ding Liren at the World Cup if he could finish endgames against other top players.

With two nice victories in ongoing Tata Steel Challengers Vidit jumps to his highest ever live rating and ranking. Vidit is now #28 with rating of 2725.4. As he still have to play another 10 games, he has a good chance to improve further in this tournament and reach a new high.

Update: Wins against Harika (3rd win in a row) moves him to #27 with 2727.6 points.

Vidit with a very professional performance to win the challengers group at Wijk aan zee with 9/13 and justify his #1 seeding. He will also get an invitation to the masters tournament next year. Hopefully this performance also gets him invited to a few more super GM tournaments this year.

Ends the tournament with 2723.3 and a ranking of 30.

Not sure if our protocol here is to use official fide rankings in which he hasn't reached #27 yet.

Visagu is #16 now.

Request: Maybe a kind moderator will remove the WR#27 etc. from the title?
