Live Chess Ratings - Top 100

Basically a froum to cover chess now that we seem to have sufficient interest in the game.

6 games, 6 draws so far between Carlsen and Karjakin in the world title decider.

Also Anand won a 4-player multi-format tournament in St Louis beating out Nakamura, Topalov and Caruana.

How good is Vidit? Does he have the potential to be in the top-20? Or is he about peaked wrt his capabilities?

@ajay ; Pragga is above 2500 in the live rankings.

Young Aryan Chopra is also progressing quite well and is up to 2528 in the live rankings. I think he is almost certainly a future 2650+ as well.

There are quite a few in that list who have taken advantage of FIDE quirks and tournaments in Spain et al to shoot up the ELO list like Vardan Nagpal for example.

@prasen; Vidit is progressing consistently. He has played 2730+ players 6 times this year with a record of 1 win, 5 draws including draws against 2770+ players in Giri and Liren so he can certainly compete at that level.

Much like every other sport, there are no high level chess tournaments in India so the path from 2700 to 2740 will be a tough one for Vidit.
