Last round with white pieces against Safrali.... :goodluck:
A win tomorrow will fetch him 3.6 ELO, making it +1.2
A draw would lose him 1.4 ELO making it -3.8 overall...
All for nothing...

3rd blunder of the week costed Hari a win and he lost badly to Safrali and lost a ton of ELO...

He was in the driver's seat going into the middle game, where he blundered a piece (despite having a whole lot of time on the clock) and it was not easy to come back from there and he eventually lost the game...

Finished tied 6th with 4/9, two points adrift of Fabi/Shak... Shak won it on tie-break... (Note: Hari had a win against Shak early on in the tournament)
Without those 3 blunders, Hari could've finished with 6 points... :-(

With this result, Hari dropped down to #16 in the ranking list losing 8.8 ELO, effectively bringing him to 2755.2... :-(

Long trek ahead for Hari from here...
He's scheduled to play a Chinese tournament in July and possibly the Chess Olympiad in September... :goodluck:

Harikrishna has reached his highest ranking of his career at WR11. His earlier best ranking was #12. He almost made it to top 10 as only .1 points separate #10 Mamedyarov & #11. After a short dip, when he dropped to #16, Hari has play good chess (beating Mamedyarov, Karjakin, drawing with Carlsen, Caruana, Giri World Chess Olympiad) to make a strong comeback. By the way his live ELO Rating at 2761.8 still lags behind his best 2769.3 on May 27th.

Hari cracks Top-10 for the first time in live ratings with a win against Cheparinov with black pieces.....

He was at 2765.8, still short of his career best (2769.3), less than 10 ELO away from Vishy...
He followed it up with another win with black pieces to bump his rating to 2768.9 and consolidated his #10 position - followed by Ding Liren (-5.1) and Anish Giri (-8.2)... and trailing Karjakin (+3.1) and Vishy (+11.6)

He is representing 'Club Ajedrez Solvay' on the Top Board at the Spanish Team Championship being held this week...
Adhiban and Ganguly are playing the 2nd and 3rd boards respectively...

In R3, he will have white pieces against Radjabov... A win today will bump him to #9 past the WC challenger, Karjakin... :goodluck:

The joy was short lived for Hari as he had a hiccup in the rest of the Spanish Higher Div League and lost to a 2681 player in the 6th round...

So, after the first two rounds with wins from the black side, Hari kind of regressed and could only manage 4 draws and a loss against players with an average rating of 2692.... An overall RP of 2728, which again is slightly lower than his current ranking and he lost 2.1 ELO for it...

Bringing him down to 2759.9 and to #14 in the Live rankings list...
His descent from the #10 position was further contributed by the ascent of Nepo and Giri, who are currently having a very good Tal Memorial...

Hari is #3 in the reserves list for the current Grand prix cycle... and may next play at the Chinese League... :goodluck:

Hari is crawling his way back up on the rating list with 3 wins out of 4 games in the Czech Extra Liga and German Bundesliga.... bringing him up to #12 at 2764.4...., less than 3 ELO from Top-10....

The lone draw Hari had from the 4 games was against the same player (Piorun) to whom he lost the only game at the Spanish Higher Div League....

Next up, he will probably be playing the European Club Cup early November... :goodluck:

Hari helped himself to #10 again... with a win against Shirov last weekend in the Austrian Bundesliga....
less than two ELO ahead of Giri and Nepo.... And since this is almost end of month and I don't see Giri and Nepo playing anywhere, Hari is sure to be #10 in the official ratings to be released on 1-NOV...... :D

With the prospect of #9 Karjakin losing heavily to Magnus in November's WC match, Hari has a chance to climb up...
Hari will play the European Club Cup early November... :goodluck:

Hari gets invited to the 2017 Tata Steel (Corus) Chess...

Carlsen, Aronian, So and Karjakin are the players ahead of him in the participant list.... :goodluck:

No Vishy, Kramnik, Caruana, MVL and Naka....

Adhiban gets in based on his 'B'(Challenger) Title this year...

With a victory in 1st round of European Club Cup today, Hari reaches a new peak- 2770.3 in his ELO rating. His earlier best was 2669.3. He continues to remain at his best ranking at #10, 1.7 points behind Karjakin. Good luck Hari for the next round.

@ajay, it is actually the second round of ECC...
Hari didn't play R1... Sasi represents the same club as Hari and won his game yesterday as did Sethu who is playing top-board for Itaka club....

Glad to see Hari get a new PB on the ELO....

I'm sure if he steadies himself this month, he'll at least get to #9 in next month's list (Karjakin will definitely slide down.. :D ) :goodluck:

@Prasen, sure he is...... when suffixed by an 'apostrophe' or a 'g'... :D

But, he will definitely make way for Hari once the WC starts later this week, if not today (Hari up against Sjugirov in R3 of ECC)... :goodluck:

ouch! looks like I jinxed Hari....
He played inaccurately early on against Sjugirov and lost badly in the end.... cost him 6.4 ELO, dropping him down to #12 at 2763.9, 3 ELO short of Nepo... Lots of catching up to do now... :goodluck:
Meanwhile Shak shot up to #9 with a win against MVL today making it 3 straight wins at the ECC for him...

:-) Sorry, could not resist a juvenile joke about carjacking.

Hope Hari recovers and does well.

Hari wins his game against Bluebaum today with white pieces and is up to #11 at 2667.2, but will be sharing the #10 spot with Shak, who is losing to Svidler, by the end of the day... :goodluck:

Shak lost, as predicted.... but is down to #11, 0.1 ELO behind Hari, who is at #10 with 2767.2...
