Doc(we all miss him), Bobby -- this brings back so many memories! At least we got a gold medal in Athletics since that time. I wonder what Bobby is doing these days.

Murali Sreeshankar will be competing in Monaco Diamond league tomorrow, August 10 where current olympic champion and host of other top long jumpers will be participating. It will be good exposure for Sreeshankar against good level of competition.

Sreeshankar ended 6th with a jump of 7.94M at Monaco Diamomd league. A jump at same level as his CWG mark of 8.06 would have taken him to 4th place. Top 3 which included Tokyo Olympic gold and bronze medalists were all above 8.30M though.

OK performance from him. 7th ranked Sreeshankar was going against 5 of the top 6 in the world rankings, so finish was fine. Would have loved to see his distance be above 8 mts though.

Neeraj's consistency is pretty remarkable. He is consistently either first or second at all the events (most of them top level) that he competes in!

Yes and this is the third time, Neeraj crossed 89M in last 3 months. It is only a matter of time that he crosses 90M, maybe at diamond league finals itself on Sept 7-8 where he has qualified.

No. He did not compete. Nadeem is 1 of the 3 who have crossed 90M this season which does not include Neeraj. But, he has been more of 84-86 M range thrower over past couple of years and it is really surprising that went up to 88+ and than 90+ all of a sudden at CWG. That does not look like natural progression like Neeraj's is.

^^^^ yes, that’s why I asked? Why wasn’t he here? Was he not eligible? Something is amiss for sure about his CWG results.

He is about to undergo a surgery in few days time. It seems he was injured during the commonwealth games as well and won that gold while being injured. Couple of weeks ago he won the javelin gold in Islamic solidarity games with a throw of 88.5m. He will be out of action for nine months after that.

Ok, so Nadeem had another 88+. Still, I would like to see his performance when he returns to see if he peforms in that 88-90 range.

6 years old 100m men's national record by .01 seconds by Amlan Borgohain. He is current national record holder for 200m as well.
