Yes, but the rules are from the Sports Ministry. It would be interesting to see if the Sports Ministry follows its own rules.

He is our most promising boxer; our best hope for an Olympic medal; it would be a huge boost for him to get this award now. I hope Sports Ministry uses some common sense.

Common sense is not so common after all.

8 of the 10 Indian boxers are thru to the QF's here. The only ones who lost are Sarita Devi in 60 kg and Saweety in 75 kgs.

The most impressive so far has been 20 year old Manisha Moun in 54 kgs who has beaten reiging world champion and bronze medalists in the last 2 bouts. Now she meets the reigning silver medallist and top seed from Bulgaria in the QF.

The olympic categories for women in boxing are increased from 3 to 5 at Tokyo. So, hope to see some good performance here which can help us find some medal prospects. Our performance in Asiad in womens boxing was dismal.

4 of the Indian boxers are thru to the SF confirming medals for us - Marykom,Sonia,Lovlina Borgohain and Simranjit Kaur.

Based on comments from those who watched- Marykom was lucky to get a win against the Chinese . On other hand, Manisha Moun and Seema were unlucky to lose their bouts.

The AIBA scoring system continues to be baffling.

Mary Kom wins again! She has incredible longevity in a sport where that is very hard to achieve...
