Indian under 16 boys basketball team had their best ever finish in the Asian age group championships when they finished 5th in the latest edition of FIBA U-16 Asian Championships in Doha, Qatar. In the 5th-8th placing match, we beat Iran and Korea, 2 teams who have regularly beaten us at various levels in Asia.

Satnam Singh is still only 26. probably could not get up and down an nba court anymore but would have been interesting if he followed the path of marjanovic playing for the mavericks or even yao to an extent and been the face of indian basketball for a generation.

Pre Olympics Asia qualifier is happening in Syria( surprise to know that Syria condition improved to conducting sports tournament). 1 from 6 team moves to final Olympic qualification. In first match, India beat higher ranked Syria.

India lost to Kazakhstan in very close match with 70 - 73. Now only hope to move ahead is beating Baharin, who is steam rolling everyone so far

It’s not the close loss but to the last placed team is what is sad.

Lost remaining all 3 matches and ended up in 3rd place by virtue of point difference. Gave hope by winning Syria, but after that, it was all downturn only.
On positive note, Prince played well in senior set up. He is doing college in US, hope he will come up well

Not exactly Indian Basketball, but just bending the rules a bit. Some Ankit Chaudhary from Toronto plays for a college in Florida. Anyone know if he is good or bad? Seems like a combo guard. Ankit Choudhary
