Maharashtra beat SSCB in mens team final in Tennis and Gujarat beat Maharashtra in womens team final to win gold.

Not getting any detailed results though. Did I miss somewhere on official website ? Wanted to know if Manas won another match and wins in earlier rounds.

^^^ On a quick look, the official site didn't seem to have enough detailed results. This page seems to show only things like 2 sets to 1 in match one and 2 sets to none in match 2 for Maharashtra against Services (when I click on "detailed scores").

But individual events like squash seems to show set scores for the match. Maybe for the individual tennis events, we will see the scores, and for team events the score is based on 3 matches (thus the number of sets are the scores!) as opposed to individual matches' scores being based on sets. Ridiculous, I guess.

Ok. Found detailed results in a Marathi newspaper of all places :D

Manas beat Faisal Qamar 36 63 75 in first singles and then Arjun beats Ishaque Iqbal 63 62.

So, another win for Manas over a 9 year older player who is underranked at 1253 having played only 3 tournaments this year. Faisal had beat Adil Kalyanpur earlier in the year. So, this is a even better win for Manas than win over Adil.

With that 8.26M Aldrin also qualified for next year's world championships. Sreeshankar has already qualfied. So, we have good crop in mens long jump now and as in mens triple jump.
Yep and in fact this 8.26m would have fetched him a bronze at Tokyo olympics. This typical highs at domestic competitions followed by the lows at international ones is indicative of any Spinach effect ? If not it's really amazing to see India's perceived 2nd best to be recording such jumps.

Siva Subramanian mark is far off from Asian standards too still. He jumped 5.31 M and last asiad bronze went at 5.50 M. So, will need big improvement to make it even to Asiad medal podium. Women's pole vault record is closer to Asian standards as I put it earlier in this thread.

No, Ankita pulled out in singles first round as she was overstretched due in team event it seems.

The true spinach effect may be visible next season through World championships, Asian championships and Asian Games. Not by "highs" but by "lows" as you have rightly assessed. India never have had so many long jumpers doing eight-metre-plus and so many triple jumpers doing 17m-plus. The day they start doing it in World championshis or Olympics we would have reached a position to be counted among the top in the world.
