Yes, Lakshya wins 19-21, 21-9, 21-16 to win gold. Great of him to stay tough and win after losing the first game.

In the meantime, Sathian beats Drinkhall 4-3 to win bronze in table tennis mens singles.

20 golds and 58 medals now. Last 3 events to start almost simultaneously- Hockey final, Achanta final and Satwik-Chirag final.

Ok. Wikipedia lists only one gold in para weight lifting.

Rest 21 were normal

Pitch forks can’t deter legends…the legend wins the individual gold in style 11-13, 11-7, 11-2, 11-6, 11-8. Achanta for Khelratna and Drona awards simultaneously for achieving and mentoring team members simultaneously

India just didn't turn up for the hockey final. When was the last time India did not get a single PC. Lost 0-7.

Ok, it is all good news to wake up to, today. TT and Badminton delivered in the end. Sharath Kamal, the legend! :notworthy:

(I said yesterday that I was not counting hockey. I just felt that they were just going to show up and lose)

So, 22 golds, 16 silvers and 23 bronze medals for a total of 61 medals. This is compared to 26 golds and 66 medals in 2018 games. If we take out 16 medals and 7 golds from shooting equivalent is 19 golds and 50 medals. From this time if we remove 2 para medals and 1 medal from cricket which was not there last time, we end up with 20 golds and total of 58 medals. Marginal improvement of 1 gold but good improvement of 8 medals in total.

Will try to post sportswise comparison soon.
