Yeah, no use for distance jumping in cricket :)

Meanwhile, we are up to 47 medals with 16 golds. Should easily go past 50 to may be 55+, right? Can we displace New Zealand for the 4th place? I don't know how many medals are left for the kiwis.

Srikanth caught up to 7-7 but now behind again, 8-14 in the third. Doesn't look good :( [EDIT: for the record, he lost badly in the end, 10-21 in the third. Basically after being 2 points away from making the final, he went 10-25 in points]

How long have para medals been part of total count? What was our split at the last CWG?

^^^ Whoa, look at that! I didn't know that it was even allowed!! Does this happen much in badminton? I assume it must be extremely rare?

Avinash Sable holds the National Records for three events: 3000m steeplechase, 5000m and the half marathon. He is special.

Not that uncommon, TBH. Especially in doubles. Have seen Chirag himself do it 3-4 times. Much difficult to do it in singles and still win the point, like Lin Dan would do.

What an achievement by the triple jumpers. Was too early for me to watch in time:-( Hope this can translate into Olympics medals.

Decent performance from the women's 4x100 to come into 5th place.

Young Malaysian badminton guy looks very under-ranked. Sen will have a fight on his hands in the final.

Fifth or fourth place for the relay team?

From Indian express live update:

India finish fourth in Women's 4 x 100m Relay. Nigeria, England and Jamaica with the podium finish.

Edit: fifth looks correct based on the timings. The headline is incorrect. Australia placed fourth.

^^^ The dude is wearing a "mundu" in Malayali style, at Birmingham? Love you, man!

Gayatri and Treesa are behind in doubles SF to the Malaysian pair, 13-21, 14-16 :( ... And they lost it at 16-21.

But Satwik-Chirag are eating up the Malaysians...21-6, 0-0... and they win it with a 21-15.

So, three finals and a bronze medal match in badminton tomorrow. Can we get at least 2 golds?

Srikanth and Treesa/Gayatri in bronze medal matches later today.

We should be favorties in both these matches and both singles gold medal matches if you go by ranking. But, we know it does not happen like that in these multi-sports games. The Malaysian NG has been playing way above his ranking of 42 in mens singles, beat world champion Loh and Srikanth twice.

Satwik-Chirag have a big block against other Malyasia pair who were Tokyo bronze medalists. Satwik-Chirag are 0-5 or something against them I think.

Yes, we are at 47 and already in 9 more finals- 2 more in boxing, 2 in table tennis, 3 in badminton, womens cricket and mens hockey. So, we should be least at 56 medals.

How many golds we can get is still to be seen.
