Sure, we can put in the Tokyo olympics thread which we already have and maybe keep editing/ updating it. We will probably do it after shooting world championships where we can insert a few and if needed remove some of the shooters.

The heptathlon is a tremendous endeavor, and to complete & dominate it while nursing the injury to her face, is completely incredible. I am happy with all of our medalists, but this one is truly special.
Yes, my top 5 performers for these games are - Amit Panghal, Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Neeraj Chopra and Swapna Barman. Swapna for her grit and others for close to world class performances. Table tennis team will also come close.

I do not know if this was reported/discussed here, but it seems there was some drama about the selection or non-selection of the women's 4x400m team. Anyway, all's well that ends well.

I think it was reported here although not this article in particular.

Anyway , it did not matter as girls won the gold.

From this article:
http://www.rediff.com/sports/special/ho ... 180926.htm
On the morning of August 30, only one person in the world knew India would win its first-ever Asian Games gold medal in the heptathlon.

Coach Subhas Sarkar had done the math.

Swapna Barman had a 63-point lead over her nearest competitor, Chinese athlete Wang Qingling but, more importantly, he knew that the girl he had been rigorously training for seven years could deliver.

Swapna came in fourth in the penultimate 800 metres of the seven-event heptathlon at 2:21, logging 6,026 points from the seven events that comprise the sport and pipping Wang to gold and forever emblazoning her name in sports history.

I disagree! At a minimum, in this forum, both Hombre and Ankit knew that Barman will win Gold in heptathlon... See the post below!!

Rajiv wrote: Wed Aug 29, 2018 3:39 am With a 50.63 she seems to have reduced the deficit by 130 points .

It seems the Chinese still in the lead by a whisker .

Could any one double check on this
She has won the gold unless she falls in the 800m or something

I believe we needed one more Gold, to get in front of Taiwan as the 7th best in Asia. So we stayed at the 8th spot.
