Losses to England continue, latest one is in Mixed doubles of badminton. Have we got even one win in any sport against the English today?

Yes, Satwik-Ashwini lost in 3 games after winning the first game. Second semi final lost by Ashwini today after winning the first game today.
Both looked tired in the end playing their second match of the day.
And to think that Ashwini will now to play 2 bronze medal matches today itself. She is going to be drained out.

Another good performance from a Malayalee runner for jay with Jinson Johnson setting a new national record in the 1500m with a 5th place in the finals. Very nicely done.
It is an Asian games gold medal level performance.
edit : poor Arpinder Singh was in bronze going into the final jumps but the Cameroonian takes that away with a personal best at the end.

Yes, he breaks 23 year old national record of Bahadur Prasad with a timing of 3:37.86 to finish 5th. Another excellent performance .Sin Hombre wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 6:22 am Another good performance from a Malayalee runner for jay with Jinson Johnson setting a new national record in the 1500m with a 5th place in the finals. Re: Commonwealth Games 2018, Gold Coast, Australia, April 5-14
Not sure what happened to the women in the 4*400 ; the first leg was terrible and I saw us messing up the changeover between the 2nd and 3rd legs.
Our performance in the semifinals was good enough to defend the Asian games gold but this was disastrous.

There was no semifinals? This was their only mark at the games.Sin Hombre wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 6:50 am Not sure what happened to the women in the 4*400 ; the first leg was terrible and I saw us messing up the changeover between the 2nd and 3rd legs.

I was looking at the gc2018 website and it was showing a 3:26 time in the entry list but that is probably "season best" or something.
Not looking good for a medal at the Asiad for the women.

No, we almost always win a gold in this event at the Asiad. They should be fine for that, I think at least for a medal if not gold. Not sure what happened here. Perhaps some mess-up.

That is actually Indian national record set way back in 2004 olympics.Sin Hombre wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 6:59 am

They ran 3:28.68 to win the gold in 2014, China ran 3:32.02 for the bronze. We ran 3:33.61 here.
