Tragedy for us in the 4*400 men. We started so well but our second runner pulled up and fell down, probably a hamstring

Yes, sad to see that. Our second leg athlete had to be carried it off with a bad injury. I think we were third after first leg.

As expected, Sumit gets a walkover from his Nigerian in mens 125 kgs in wrestling and wins gold. Gold #22 for us.

And Sakshi Malik only gets a bronze in womens 62 kgs. Not a good performance from her. She has regressed after olympic bronze 2 years back.

Very sad looking medal podium in the women's 62kg wrestling with the injured Canadian with the silver and Sakshi looks quite disconsolate with just a bronze. Only the Nigerian gold medalist looks happy.

I didn't realize that the Canadian was a bronze medalist at the world championships.

Gold #23 from Vinesh.

Very impressive performance against the 3-time former world champion from Canada.

Yet again, she will be a Olympic medal prospect but at the same time, also so inconsistent.

Yes, very good dominant win. Vinesh has been our best women wrestler for last couple of years after level of her sisters Geeta and Babita dropped off. ( despite Sakshi Malik's medal at Rio). She consolidated it with a CWG games gold now.

Sinhombre- you can put Sushil,Bajang and Vinesh as Asian medal prospects. They can become olympic medal hopes if they win a medal at Asiad.

So, we have 23 gold medals now. Adding Badminton women's singles, we have 24. And the gold medal matches we are still in contention are : 2 in badminton, 2 in squash, 2 in boxing and 2 in TT bringing the total to 8. Can we reach 30 golds?

Ponnappa/sikkireddy wins bronze in Women's doubles badminton. Ponnappa is tired as hell. What kind of ridiculous scheduling is this....4 matches in a day???

Yes,that is crazy. Happy for Ashwini though for winning some medal after losing 2 close semi finals in womens doubles and mixed doubles today itself. Still has to play mixed doubles bronze medal match. Would she have anything left for it ?

Manika is 2 games up in her singles TT final against another Singapore player.

Saurav-Dipika lose the first game to the Australian pair in squash mixed doubles final.

Manika Batra easily beats the Singapore girl in 4 straight games to win the gold.

She is the first Indian to win womens singles title at CWG.

For me she is one of the players of the games for us. Gold # 24.

Ok, currently she is ranked #50. But, yes. Manika Batra has performed above expectations.

Saurav-Dipika lose a close final to the Australians and get a silver.

So many contentious calls there only on fouls blocking the player. How difficult it is for 4 players to play in that small squash court. :D
