Prannoy loses bronze to....yes another English opponent! Must be about 8-1 in medal match ups to England over India in the last 2 days. Next losses likely in TT men's doubles and boxing. Dreadful record. Of all the opponents to lose to, hate losing to the English.

Yes lost both of those golds to England :-(

Bronze lost in mixed double badminton. Damn, we are losing a lot of close battles. Looks like we will finish on 27 or 28 golds and 65/66 total medals. Canada have done poorly on golds, so we will finish 3rd in the final table.

Yes, it seems organisers have that option to decide on few sports and next game organisers decided not to have shooting. There have been lot of protests though to try to restore that. Let us see.

Yes, we are at 25 golds and 59 medals, Canada are stuck well below at 15 golds (81 medals). Tomorrow, we are in 3 badminton final and 1 in squash.1 gold is guaranteed between Saina and Sindhu. Srikanth, Satwik-Chirag and Dipika-Joshna will fight for other 3. Also 1 all Indian bronze medal match in table tennis mixed doubles and Achanta in mens singles bronze match.

Few disappointments at the end of the day.
HS Prannoy choked away that bronze medal, he had 2 match points. Our men's doubles TT too had a 2-1 games advantage but lost.
The last bout of Sumit against the English boxer, even the commentators felt we should we have won.
And really feel for Ashwini, 4 very tough match, crazy scheduling, why cant they have the bronze medal matches the next day?

But all in all its been a best CWG for india according to me, we have performed well across all disciplines.
:notworthy: :notworthy: to the Indian team.

Will be very difficult to match the performance in Birmingham.

Fingers crossed for Joshna/Dipika, Srikanth and Satwik/Chirag.
Saina and PV Sindhu will be the only match we will watch without having any tension of the GOLD medal

You mean Satish, right. I did not see that. The scoresheet also shows a close bout for all judges except the Irish one who gave everything to the English boxer.

Manish Kaushik was the closest. I feel he would win against an Australian but got 2-3 split decision against him. :-(

Still, overall pretty good performance in mens boxing with 3 golds against 4 for England. We could so easily had 4-5 with some favourable decision.
Anyway, federation mess had set us back for a few years but now we are back to our previous level. Let's see though in Asiad against the tough central asian nations.

Sanjeev Rajput's performance should be in Olympic potential, I think. His qualifying score of 1180 would have been second best in Rio while his final score would have mostly given him a medal.

Also Vikas Krishan,Manish Kaushik from boxing, Sushil Kumar, Bajrang,Vinesh for Asian potential. Boxers, wrestlers can also be olympic potential but hard to say based on competition here.

Sanjeev would have finished 5th with his final score. I think you might be looking at his final score and comparing them to the 3rd and 4th spot finishers who had fewer shots. We can elevate him to Olympic potential if he repeats at the Asian games.

Added Vikas and the 3 wrestlers. Manish lost to a relatively weak Australian boxer and the old Soviet Asian countries are very strong in his weight category. I think Satish Kumar might have a stronger case but again, the istans* are world class in the heavyweights.

Saina continues her recent superiority over Sindhu with a win in straight games.

Not sure what to make of it, Saina has gotten back to the level where she has started beating a lot of lower ranked players but has kept losing to the likes of TTY and also lost to her old nemesis LXR in the Uber cup test event.

Saina is also exposing another potential weakness in Sindhu's game by actually attacking her. So far, the standard technique has been the Japanese one where they try to grind her into unforced errors in long rallies.

Well done, Saina. Shows that she is still a force to reckon with.

Manika Batra wins bronze in table tennis mixed doubles along with Sathian and becomes our highest medal getter in these games with 4 medals- really the find of this tournament I would say .

Achanta Sharath Kamal wins bronze in mens singles TT for our medal #62.

Will we end as dominant nation in table tennis here ? Will need to check final tally.

Yes, he lost 14-21 in the third game against Lee Chong Wei. :-( Only a silver for him.

Also Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa lost the squash doubles final to win silver. Second silver of the games to Dipika.

Now only badminton mens doubles final left for us.
