Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
Will be a shootout for spots 5-7 unless one of the guys at 96 shoots a 25 and joins the fray.

Yeah, he hit a 24 and, as I predicted he will make it. He is at 5th now and has to make it. At least I think so

Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
One of our best overall days at the Olympics this year. Gurpreet added another top-8 finish, Lalita Babbar became the fourth Indian woman ever to qualify for an Olympic athletics final, Mairaj remains in contention, and Sania/Rohan will make the MxD final in a few hours. Plus Chawrasia is scorching the Golf course for a change.

Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
This can easily turn into the #1 heartbreak day if Mairaj loses out on the final in shootout and finishes 7th and Sania/Rohan lose their MxD semis.

Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
Qn - on what basis do they have the three guys at 121 listed as 5, 6, and 7? It doesn't seem to be alphabetical.

Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
Exactly. I think there is some count-back business; otherwise I don't see how they have consistently had Mairaj ahead of the other two 121 guys. If so, what shootoff? I guess we aren't sure?Ayush1234567 wrote:I think tinis count-back and so i think...
Will there be a shootoff?
The best would be if the Ukranian just shoots a 22 and gets out of the way! No need for shootoff.
Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
What is great about Laita Babar's performance is not just her timing, but she achieved it despite having fell during the course of her run. She had to spend lot of energy to recover, yet she got 4th position in her heats (and I think faster than 3rd heats winner).
If there is a special performance in this Olympics from an Indian, it is definitely hers.

And it seems the general feeling is that she is clean, as far as spinach is concerned. I thought mugu hinted that. But I guess we have to always worry about it.shibi wrote:If there is a special performance in this Olympics from an Indian, it is definitely hers.

Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
The order is probably alphabetical on first names.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_ ... %27s_skeet
The women had a shootoff for the 6th final spot as well.
