Predictably Aditya lost 5-0 to end up as runner up which is a creditable performance.

World Snooker: Advani loses to a Chinese :(
http://www.rediff.com/sports/report/wor ... 141128.htm

I didn't realize we have two separate threads - one for Snooker and one for Billiards. We should probably merge them into one and rename the thread to "Indian Snooker and Billiards" thread..just a thought...

Gautam, we started this thread when Aditya and Pankaj qualified for Pro-Snooker tour ... From this year Pankaj decide to play an amature (IBSF) snooker only ... Other hand Aditya is still trying his best to succeed on tough pro tour.

If anyone is interested then they can see his results on this pro snooker site -
Aditya Mehta - snooker.org

Here are results from last couple of tournaments.

At European Tour Event Four 2014, Mülheim, Germany

[R1] Aditya Mehta (IND,54) bt (A) Kishan Hirani (WAL) 4-2 (14-65, 67-1, 70-27, 63-58, 48-63, 93-21)
[R2] Aditya Mehta (IND,54) l Dominic Dale (WAL,29) 3-4 (17-73, 1-74(74), 87-28, 76-24, 71-66(66), 26-84(54), 1-89(83))

At £755K UK Championship 2014, York, England

And the 14-year-old Chinese sensation Yan Bingtao wins (IBSF) World Snooker Championship in Bangalore on Saturday.
Thus Yan Bingtao becomes youngest player to win world snooker title at 14

Final result: Yan Bingtao (China) bt Muhammad Sajjad (Pak) 8-7 (71-59, 16-81, 22-75, 67-53, 77-13, 4-93, 63-38, 0-86, 76-09(76), 70-37, 65-72, 38-76, 16-107, 72-21, 61-15).

I presumably this is the world amateur snooker championship. Truly distressing that a young Chinese player has invaded even this turf!!

(As far as I know, our players are not world-beating at professional snooker).

:Offtopic: It reminds me of a joke. A player got a broken sheen injury. He was a bridge player.

Pankaj become the first ever Indian to win a medal in any edition of Sangsom World 6Reds Championship since its start in 2008.

Pankaj had a great run throughout the tournament and reached till the medals round without losing any match ... This includes an outstanding victory over former World Pro Champion Ding Junhui in the first round-robin match ... But in semis, he couldn't repeat the same result and lost 4-7 against Ding to settle-down for Bronze.

Before that Pankaj qualified for knock-out stage after winning Group C.

At SangSom 6Red World Championship 2016, Bangkok, Thailand

[R32] Pankaj Advani (IND) bt Lukas Kleckers (GER) 6-0 (37-00, 61-00, 54-07, 48-06, 49-25, 51-07)
[R16] Pankaj Advani (IND) bt Yuan Sijun (CHN) 6-4 (75(75)-00, 39-17, 01-32, 41-00, 02-49, 34-25, 76(72)-00, 00-41, 00-62(62), 39-28)
[QF] Pankaj Advani (IND) bt Michael Holt (ENG) walkover

[SF] Pankaj Advani (IND) l Ding Junhui (CHN) 4-7 (37-00, 00-68(64), 00-73(73), 26-49, 15-49, 57-07, 63-00, 00-67, 00-67(67), 34-20, 09-69)

Disappointing loss of Aditya against Lee Walker ... With couple of 50+ scores Aditya won first 3 frames but from 4th frame he lost his concentration ... And Lee Walker took full advantage of it winning next four frames for a win.

At £366K English Open 2016, Manchester, England

[R1] Aditya Mehta (IND,120) l Lee Walker (WAL,94) 3-4 (65(61)-5, 67-52, 64(64)-1, 44-58, 28-84(63), 0-69, 40-78(64))
