Shooting medal! Indian shooters continue from where they left off on Day 1! Jitu Rai, Samaresh Jung and Prakash Nanjappa help India win team bronze in the Men's 10m Air Pistol event. They finished behind hosts South Korea and China. In fact, India finished on par score with China (1743) but the shot one bullseye fewer. (64 to China's 65).
wtf:
The Asian Games will be the first major international hockey competition to feature the new format where the duration of the game has been reduced from 70 to 60 minutes.

Such a close race for team medal there.2 more shots and we would have taken the gold but then 2 less shots would have taken us out of medals .
Let's see what Jitu can do today.

Typical farce cost us a gold probably -sameerph wrote:Such a close race for team medal there.2 more shots and we would have taken the gold but then 2 less shots would have taken us out of medals .

Indian shooters are scripting a dream in Incheon! While Samaresh Jung arrived in Incheon only last night due to visa issues, Prakash Nanjappa's gun was stuck at customs until Saturday evening, forcing him to practice with spare guns for three days.

Damn, that is inexcusable.Great performance by Samresh and Prakash in that case.
In mens trap, Manavjeet had a bad round of 21 in fourth while Mansher had 23. Both are at 93 at the end of 4th round, 2 away from 6th place. So, either of them will have to do 25 in last round to have a chance of making SF.
Team medal too looks out of reach here.

Yes, a 7.8 did him in.Else, he was joint first before that. But, it happens even to the best. Korean world champion shot 7.4 after that & had to settle for bronze.
Another Korean won the gold.

Manavjit with only a 23 in the 5th round, that is not good enough to qualify.

Re: Asian Games 2014 - Incheon
Only top 6 enter SF. The qualification stopped at 119. Mansher shot 117 while Manavjeet shot 116. Unfortunately, our third shooter Khan Chennai shot a poor 108. We finished 4 short of team bronze.
This is disappointing. Trap is one event where we have won at least 1 medal at most of the Asian games.
I think the problem here is no new talent is coming along. Manavjeet and Mansher have been around for years now and still nobody is pushing them for a place in the team.

Dipika Pallikal beats Joshana Chinappa in a close match 3-2 to enter SF. So, at least 2 bronze medals assured in squash although we hope the color of the medal will be different.
Re: Asian Games 2014 - Incheon
Last Asian games (2010) was keenly followed in this forum and 86 pages were filled by the time games ended then. Now i am not sure if the pages in this thread go past that even if the indian medals go past earlier games

Golds will be hard to come by. No sure gold anymore. Overall golds tally will be less compared to Guangzhou. We'll finish behind Korea, China in shooting, lose in Judo to Japan, Wrestling to China, Japan, Korea, Archery to Korea, Boxig to Thailand, China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Badminton to China. In Athletics we'll also fall short. I feel I see a lack of motivation this time among our athletes. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Where The next (2nd) gold will come from? When?
This is not CWG.
