WOW! What a comeback by the Men's Kabaddi team with a 14-4 2nd half score after trailing by 8 points in the first half......

And now we are into sixth position after that 11th gold.
But, that may be temporary. North Korea, Thailand & Uzbekistan can all go ahead of us. Thailand North Korea will need 1 gold, Uzbekistan will need 2.
North Korea has Table tennis mixed doubles final to come. Thailand is in 1 boxing final, Uzbekistan in 2. Both are also still in contention in Taikwando. It will be touch & go.

Can't believe India pulled this off. Iran looked to be the better team.

Thailand will surely go ahead of us. They are alive in many events including two finals of sepaktekraw, which is to them like what kabaddi is to India.

For the first half yes, it needed the very best of us to pull this off...Iran has a very young team so next time they wll be come back even stronger , on the other hand we need to find some new talent...hope the kabbadi league wll provide the platform these guys need...shibi wrote:Can't believe India pulled this off. Yes, North Korea won the table tennis mixed doubles gold and move ahead of us.
But, Uzbekistan lost 1 of the boxing finals. So, they cannot go ahead of us now.
Only, Thailand left now. 1 boxing final and 1 contender in Taikwando SF left for them now.

That was an amazing comeback. Iran had given us some fight at the last Asiad too. They have been closing the gap, and will one day catch us. But this was an excellent effort for us to keep the domination going, at least for some more time. Jay

In Mens this is the first time they have given us some serious trouble, I think we beat them twice in 2010 IIRC..
On the other hand women had a narrow scape in 2010 SF which was the reason for worry however they were right on the money today and never really looked in serious trouble once the 2nd half started...
Overall signs are there that dominance is in danger and unless we can get some new talent 2018 might throw up different results...Here is hoping for us to stay on top for as long as we can...
