Pooja Rani also lost a close one to her Chinese opponent. Was hoping for wins from her and Sarita today.

yes not all of them will turn gold. Unless there are bolts from blue in some other discipline. Boxers already lost. 2-3 gold from there would have been good. But now 1-2 will be a luxury. Almost all (barring 2-3 Vijay Krishnan, Satish & Mary) of them are out of fray now.Mugundan wrote:Ashwini Akkunji qualified for the 400 hurdles as the second fastest this morning. That means a medal is possible.
Ref sameer's post, Qatar probably will add the men's 200m (Femi Ogunode who won the 100) and 800m (Adbulrahman Musaeb Bala) to their gold collection to raise it at least to 10.
India still has chances of gold from Gowda (DT), Tintu Luka (800), Arpinder Singh (TJ) and women's 4x400. On paper that is. All these, bar the relay, can turn into silver or bronze even. If the best case scenario materializes India would have equalled its Guangzhou athletics collection of five gold medals! Too much to expect, I think?

vikas gowda is currently at top position...
Ehsan hadadi who has PB of 69 throws 65.11 while gowda is at sec position with 62.58
gold looks difficult

Yes, big throw that by Ehsan Hadadi above 65 meters. Vikas will have to come up with his season best to go ahead of that.
Varsha Gautam & Aishwarya Nedunchezhiyan won bronze in Women's 29er - Two Person Dinghy. So, 1 retain 1 medal in sailing which we won last time ( although it was a silver last time around.)

Re: Asian Games 2014 - Incheon
He has a season best of of 65.62 but that was in May and I think after that he has mostly been in 62-64 range. He has only 3 throws left to do that. The other Iranian is also breathing down the neck now with a 60.37.ankit1407 wrote:Gold is as good as gone now...Vikas i doubt can throw beyond 65...

Vikas fouls his 4th throw. The top Iranian has another 64+ throw.
Vikas fouls his 5th throw and so does the third placed Iranian. So, it is down to one last throw.
Surprise 61+ from a Qatari on his last throw pushes the other Iranian to fourth place! No magic from Vikas and he settles for silver.

Devendro loses to a Korean too. I am not sure if it was a fair result or not. Disastrous results in mens boxing for us.
