Shiva Keshavan has qualified for the 47th FIL Luge World Championship, Igls, Tirol, Austria with the personal best timing of 50.546 secs ... Not a bad timing considering the World record is 50.098 secs.

Isn't this Shiva's 6th Olympics in a row? Did he miss any? I think his first was in 1998..

Yes Jay, if he qualifies then 2018 Winter Olympics will be his sixth in a row ... He participated in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.

Shiva Keshavan retained his Asian championship title with a time of 55.60 seconds on tricky course ... Due to technical reasons, the Asian Luge Championships took place at Altenberg in Germany ... Keshavan will represent India at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games at Pyeongchang in South Korea for his record sixth Olympics.

At the Asian Luge Championships 2017, Altenberg, Germany

Gold - Shiva Keshavan (IND) 55.60 secs
Silver - Lien Te-An (TPE) 56.12 secs
Bronze - Kim Dong Kyu (KOR) 56.50 secs
