The 2015 IBSF World Billiards Championship, Adelaide, Australia

The 2015 IBSF World Billiards Championship was completed with the final of the Timed event where Pankaj Advani won his 14th World title defeating Peter Gilchrist (Singapore) 2408-1240 by 1168 points difference.

Peter Glichrist had already won the 150Up defeating Pankaj earlier in the week, so sweet revenge for Pankaj to defend his Timed title.

The U21 saw S. Shrikrishna (India) defeat Ishpreet Chadha (India) and the Women event saw Arantxa Sanchis (India) Finsh over the top of R. Umadevi (India).

After three years posting something different than 'Pankaj Advani wins another World Billiards Championship.' ... :p

Saurav Kothari lifted his first World Billiards Championship beating the multiple times World Champion and a legend Peter Gilchrist in the final ... His one break over 300+ helped him to take the lead, which he maintained with the consistency on the board ... Before that, he fought back from more than 500+ points deficit to beat another ex-World Champion David Causier in well-contested semi-final match ... After falling behind he scored few 100+ breaks including one 338 pts. break.

Yes, he defeated Pakistan's Babar Masih 7-5 in the final at Doha ... The last week he also won his 11th Asian title, when he won the Asian snooker title defeating former champion Amir Sarkhosh of Iran 6-3.

I think this is the first time I am visiting this thread (at least in a very long time). I am doing so to acknowledge my late realisation that Pankaj Advani is perhaps the greatest billiards player of all time. This is a sport in which we have previously had 3 great world champions (Wilson Jones twice, Michael Ferreira and Geet Sethi 3 times each). Sethi was a young man when he first became world champion, but he has been runner-up 4 times but never won another world championship after those 3 (losing 2 of the finals to Advani). Pankaj Advani has taken it to another level by winning 16 world billiards championships, plus 8 other titles (4 of them in amateur snooker) to amass an incredible 24 world titles! Wow! We have a GOAT!

It is his 18th world billiards title. An incredible achievement. He is the GOAT of billiards. (Additionally, he also has 8 world amateur snooker titles).

This is the IBSF World Billiards title (the successor to the world amateur billiards championship), now won 18 times by Pankaj Advani, succeeding 2-time winner Wilson Jones, and 3-time winners Michael Ferreira and Geet Sethi. Sourav Kothari has been runner-up in the latest two editions.

There is also a World Open Billiards championship (succeeding the world professional championship), held mainly in England. This one has been won 5 times by Geet Sethi, once by Sourav Kothari (2018) and 4 times by Pankaj Advani (the last being in 2014). It's not clear whether Pankaj Advani has played the world open billiards championship since 2014.
