Re: Indian Shooting thread
Beginning to wonder if Anjum winning a quota in 10m air rifle is a good thing or bad thing .. seems like she is the only one capable of getting a quota in 3P but is now not eligible as she already has one ..
Given the quality we have in air rifle woman at this point don’t know if she will still be in same form to qualify one of our participant in event .. my understanding is while quota is for NOC , the participation via MQS in an another event is only applicable for the athlete who won the quota and participates in the event..(in that case she has to shoot in 10m to be eligible for 3P)

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Last 3 shots for Anjum, anything less than 30 will see her out for top8 for sure ..
Edit :- hits a 9 , she is likely out of the race for finals ..apparently others missed shots as well but she still misses out on inner 10’s.. one more point would have sealed it but ended up hitting 9,9,10 in last 3 shots..

I have a question, Anjum is still eligible to win quota in 3P from other qualification competitions , right?ankit1407 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 1:24 am Beginning to wonder if Anjum winning a quota in 10m air rifle is a good thing or bad thing .. seems like she is the only one capable of getting a quota in 3P but is now not eligible as she already has one ..

Or is it, that if a shooter wins a quota they cant win anymore quota throughout the Olympic qualification cycle?

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Yesterday, Anjum shot 1177 in eliminations which would have topped the qualifications today. Yesterday, she shot 390 in the standing series, today it was only 383 which made the difference of 7 in her score from yesterday and today.
True, Ankit. In effect, whatever she does in 3P now, she cannot get a quota for India in that event. So, even if she is medal prospect in 3P, we will have to necessarily field her in 10M air rifle in order for her to be eligible for 3P. It will be a selection dilemma if 2 of Apurvi, Elavenil, Mehuli do better than her in 10M.ankit1407 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 1:24 am Beginning to wonder if Anjum winning a quota in 10m air rifle is a good thing or bad thing .. seems like she is the only one capable of getting a quota in 3P but is now not eligible as she already has one ..

In men's double trap team we were in gold medal position before the final batch shot in which VIHAN Shardul needed a 25 for a silver and 27 for gold but he shoots a terrible 23

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Manu collapsed in the rapid fire and finished joint 6th (but 10th on inner 10s) and misses out on the finals.
Terrible tournament for us.
@sameer how does this work? If someone else gets a quota in 50m 3p, Anjum can participate in both events and someone else can as well?

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Yes, if someone else gets a quota, we can field Anjum ( as a double starter) and another one in 3p but for that Anjum has to be part of 2 shooters in 10M air rifle.Sin Hombre wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 5:28 am

Yes, bad 290 by both Manu and Rahi in rapid round. All those who made it to the final shot 293 or more in rapid round. Manu herself shot 296 at Asiad.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Ankur Mittal got a gold in mens double trap.
Sadly, double trap is no more an olympic event. Ankur Mittal will now turn to trap, it seems in order to try to qualify for olympics.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
The seniors kinda underperformed.
After the terrific start this year at Mexico WC and CWG, hopefully they will bounce back next year.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
It actually shows where we are in World Level...Iran does get more medal than us because of World Level performance from their wrestling team...Hope our shooters turn the tide in 2020 ...Sin Hombre wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 5:28 am Manu collapsed in the rapid fire and finished joint 6th (but 10th on inner 10s) and misses out on the finals.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Pretty poor performance from seniors specially considering the Olympic events , 25m pistol for men remains , let’s hope Anish can continue from this Asian games performance and help is get a medal and quota..

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Anish with a poor 93 and the path to getting to the finals is very steep.
